  • Perform patching, system hardening, vulnerability remediation, and configuration updates.
  • Develop and maintain architecture diagrams, deployment procedures, system documentation, and operational runbooks.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers, developers, and EPA infrastructure teams.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of professional systems engineering, Linux administration, or infrastructure support experience.
  • Strong hands-on Red Hat Enterprise Linux or comparable enterprise Linux administration experience.
  • Experience configuring, troubleshooting, patching, and maintaining Linux servers.
  • Practical experience with AWS cloud environments, including compute, networking, and infrastructure configuration.

  • Working knowledge of Bash, Python, or comparable scripting languages.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure automation and configuration management.
  • Understanding of backup, system recovery, and disaster recovery concepts.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues.
  • Familiarity with security patching, vulnerability remediation, and system monitoring.
  • Ability to independently execute assigned engineering activities under senior technical oversight.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience implementing disaster recovery capabilities and conducting recovery testing.
  • Familiarity with NIST security controls, FISMA, and POA&M remediation.
  • Familiarity with SAP Business Objects server administration, installation, upgrades, and integration with Linux-based enterprise environments.
  • Experience supporting Next Generation Node or enterprise data exchange environments.
