About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated professional to join us on an 18 month Fixed Term Contract (FTC) based in Tokyo, Japan on a hybrid working model.
This role is ideal for an ambitious individual whether you are a recent graduate (HR or business related disciplines preferred) or early in your professional journey who is eager to build a rewarding career within HR, Talent Acquisition, or People Operations.
In this role, you will lead local hiring initiatives for Japan (and support the wider APAC region) with a focus on engineering and technical positions. Working closely on-ground with local engineering managers and the in-country People Partner, you will also be fully integrated into our Global TA team, receiving structured mentorship and working alongside experienced colleagues across Europe and North America.
Key Accountabilities
- Recruitment & Fulfilment: Partner closely with local engineering hiring managers to facilitate end to end recruitment for technical positions across the region.
- Local Stakeholder Partnership: Work hand in hand with engineering leaders, the local People Partner, and Recruitment Marketing to deliver a smooth candidate experience and effective hiring campaigns.
- Global Team Collaboration: Serve as the local Talent Acquisition lead for Japan/APAC while working seamlessly with global teammates to share best practices and gain hands-on international recruitment experience.
- Candidate Sourcing & Pipeline Building: Identify and engage qualified engineering talent using tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter and Boolean search, building networks for immediate and future team growth.
- Process Improvement & Analytics: Use recruitment data and key metrics to support effective hiring decisions and contribute to local HR and recruitment process improvements.
- Employer Brand Representation: Authentically communicate our employer brand, company culture, and business vision to prospective candidates in Japan.
Candidate Requirements
- Early career experience in HR, talent acquisition, customer success, or a related business field
- Proactive, highly enthusiastic, and eager to learn, with a strong commitment to developing a career in Talent Acquisition and HR.
- Interest in or exposure to technical/engineering environments and recruiting for specialized roles.
- Familiarity with or eagerness to learn passive candidate sourcing techniques (e.g., LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search).
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust across both local Japanese business functions and global remote teams.
- Fluent/Native Japanese and Business level English (written and spoken); based in or able to commute to Tokyo under a hybrid working structure.
Your Future & Support
From day one, you will receive clear guidance, comprehensive onboarding, and ongoing mentorship to ensure your success. While taking ownership of local recruitment initiatives, you will always be backed by the resources and collaboration of a wider global team.
Our values guide everything we do – "Anything Is Possible", "Zero Friendly Fire", and "Iten Kenya" (the art of pushing yourself to new levels every day).
If you are looking for an environment that actively invests in your professional growth and global exposure, we would love to connect!
