Description

FMI, a leading and rapidly growing management consulting and investment banking firm specializing in the built environment, is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join its growing People & Culture team. This role is ideal for a hands-on, relationship-driven recruiter who enjoys managing a full recruiting lifecycle while helping the firm attract exceptional talent.

The Talent Acquisition Specialist will partner closely with the Talent Acquisition Manager, Talent Acquisition team, and hiring managers to manage a portfolio of professional and early-career searches across FMI. The role will lead recruiting from intake and candidate engagement through interviews, selection, offer acceptance, and transition to onboarding.

This is an opportunity for an early-career recruiter to deepen their expertise in professional services recruiting and learn FMI's business, culture, and approach to talent. The Specialist will receive mentorship and partnership from the Talent Acquisition Manager while progressively expanding their ownership and impact across the full recruiting lifecycle.

In addition to primary recruiting responsibilities, this role will provide targeted sourcing support for specialized or difficult-to-fill searches and coordinate FMI's internship recruiting program. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable shifting priorities within a small, collaborative recruiting team.

This full-time opportunity is based in our corporate headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina. This position follows a hybrid work schedule, with three days per week in the office and two days working remotely.

All applicants for employment must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis. Visa sponsorship is not available at this time.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting for an assigned portfolio of early-career and corporate services roles, from intake and search strategy through candidate engagement, selection, offer acceptance, and transition to onboarding.
  • Partner closely with hiring managers to clarify needs, develop candidate profiles and recruiting plans, coordinate interviews and assessments, gather feedback, and help drive timely decisions.
  • Lead a high-touch candidate experience by posting and managing requisitions, reviewing applications, conducting recruiter screens, preparing candidates for interviews, and maintaining clear communication throughout the process.
  • Provide targeted sourcing support for specialized or difficult-to-fill searches, using LinkedIn Recruiter, referrals, professional networks, and other channels to identify, engage, and screen qualified candidates while building actionable talent pipelines.
  • Coordinate FMI's annual internship recruiting cycle, including recruiting timelines, campus outreach, application review, interview scheduling, selection, offers, candidate communications, and pre-start coordination with internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate applicant tracking system records and recruiting documentation while representing FMI's culture, values, and employment brand professionally in every candidate and hiring manager interaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, Psychology, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of full-cycle recruiting or talent acquisition experience, including independently managing multiple simultaneous searches.
  • Experience partnering directly with hiring managers, interviewing candidates, and managing recruiting processes through offer acceptance.
  • Experience using applicant tracking systems and professional sourcing platforms such as LinkedIn Recruiter.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, relationship-building, organization, and sound judgment in candidate evaluation.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities with a collaborative, adaptable approach and strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and candidate experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience recruiting for professional services, consulting, investment banking, finance, and/or corporate functions.
  • Experience with campus recruiting, internship recruiting, or program coordination.
  • Experience sourcing passive candidates for professional services positions.
  • Experience using recruiting metrics to inform improvements.
  • Familiarity with Paylocity or a similar ATS/HRIS platform.
