Talent Manager
FoundantA Note on How To Reach Us
We're truly grateful that so many people have Foundant on their radar — it means a lot that our work resonates with others. That said, due to the high volume of direct messages and emails we receive, cold outreach isn't the preferred way to be considered for a role, and we're not able to prioritize applications submitted this way. To apply for open positions, please visit our careers page, which is the fastest and most effective route to being considered.
About Foundant
At Foundant, we build mission-critical software for the social good ecosystem — helping foundations, grantmakers, nonprofits, and community organizations streamline their work, strengthen relationships, and maximize their impact. We serve the giving community worldwide with a comprehensive suite of solutions spanning grant management, community foundation software, and giving analytics.
We're a unified company shaped by strong roots across our product portfolio, and we operate with intention and purpose. Our team of ~350 people across six countries is connected by a shared North Star: to be the trusted partner and strategic advisor to the communities we serve.
Where You’ll Work:
- As a remote-first workplace, we believe in offering flexibility and the freedom to work where it suits you best, while staying connected through technology. Our global network of talent is supported by physical office hubs and virtual collaboration, fostering a dynamic environment where innovation and growth thrive.
- With office locations in Bozeman, MT, Toronto, Canada, and Dublin, Ireland, you'll be part of a globally connected team. Whether you're working remotely or from one of our office locations, you'll be contributing to a vibrant, collaborative culture focused on driving meaningful impact across the world.
What You’ll Do:
- You'll own team member lifecycle strategy end to end — from first sourcing conversation through onboarding, early-tenure experience, and offboarding — connecting every stage into a single strategy your team executes against
- You'll manage and develop a small team spanning recruiting and team member experience, holding a strong execution bar while investing real time in their growth and career paths
- You'll set the strategy and standards for proactive sourcing — passive-candidate pipelines and headhunting-driven outreach — directing your team's execution so the share of hires from proactive outreach keeps growing and recruiting stays consistently ahead of hiring needs
- You'll build broader skillset agility across Foundant — staying ahead of how the skills different teams need are changing, and bringing that thinking into sourcing, hiring criteria, and hiring-manager conversations about what “qualified” looks like as roles evolve
- You'll own the hiring-manager partnership company-wide, becoming the go-to strategic partner for every manager building their team — tracking hiring-manager satisfaction as a real measure of whether that partnership is working, because a manager's confidence in the process shapes a candidate's confidence in us
- You'll set the direction for onboarding and early-tenure experience — defining the programs and standards your team delivers on the ground, including structured early-tenure check-ins that help new team members feel supported and set up to succeed from day one — and you'll track new-hire retention and onboarding satisfaction as signals of how well that's working
- You'll be accountable for time-to-fill, time-to-hire, and offer-acceptance rate against existing targets, using data to direct where your team focuses next
- You'll partner closely with your peers across the People team, keeping recruiting, onboarding, and people operations connected as one continuous experience
- Other duties as assigned
What You’ll Need:
- 3+ years of experience directly managing people, including hiring, coaching, and performance management
- 5+ years in recruiting or talent acquisition, including experience building proactive and passive-candidate sourcing strategies
- Experience in a growth stage SaaS organization (roughly 300–500 employees)
- Demonstrated experience building team member lifecycle programs, from sourcing through onboarding and early-tenure experience
- Comfortable operating as a player-coach — hands-on with sourcing, screening, and program-building, alongside setting strategy and coaching a team
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada or the United States
What You’ll Bring to our Team Dynamics:
Strategic Thinking
Translates full team member lifecycle ownership — sourcing through onboarding, early tenure, and offboarding — into one connected strategy and grows proactive sourcing capability — measured by the share of hires that come through proactive outreach — so hiring stays consistently ahead of need.
Performance Advancement
Holds the team accountable to a strong execution bar, and uses time-to-fill, time-to-hire, and offer-acceptance data to keep the pipeline moving at a pace hiring managers can count on.
Decision-Making
Makes clear, well-reasoned calls on sourcing strategy and hiring-manager prioritization, and communicates the reasoning behind those decisions so managers and the team know what to expect next.
Collaboration and Learning
Builds Foundant's hiring-manager partnership company-wide and partners closely with peers across People, because recruiting, onboarding, and people operations work best as one connected experience.
Staff Development
Invests real time in the team's growth — coaching, honest feedback, and development plans — alongside holding a high bar for execution, because growth and strong execution reinforce each other.
