WE ARE HIRING TAMIL PROOFREADER

WORK LOCATION: WORK FROM HOME (REMOTE)

We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Tamil language professional who can proofread books for various grades of learners for school. The applicant is expected to have extensive experience in proofreading and comfortable in handling multiple content types and deadlines while working closely with writers, editors, designers, and other stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Tamil Language/Literature.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Tamil
• Attention to detail; ability to proofread and edit content meticulously, spot and eliminate subtle errors
• Proofread and edit Tamil content to ensure accuracy and quality
• Ensure consistency in tone and style across all content
• Ability to work independently and work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Ability to work effectively with writers, editors, designers, and cross-functional teams
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Docs
• Ensure consistency in terminology, capitalisation, abbreviations, headings, formatting, across documents
• Ownership, accountability

Roles & Responsibilities

• Proofread and edit content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, clarity, consistency, and overall readability
• Ensure all content follows established editorial guidelines, brand voice, and style standards
• Maintain consistency in typography, terminology, capitalisation, headings, formatting, and language across multiple documents
• Review final layouts and formatted documents to identify any content or formatting issues
• Work closely with writers, editors, designers, and content managers to resolve errors and improve content quality
• Take ownership of assigned content and ensure it meets defined quality standards before delivery or publication
• Identify recurring errors and contribute to improving proofreading processes, checklists, and editorial guidelines
• Maintain a high level of accuracy while working with high-volume content and tight deadlines
