We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive Tax Accountant to join a high-performing US CPA firm. In this technical tax role, you will focus on preparing individual and business tax returns, managing workpapers, executing tax data reconciliations, and supporting proactive tax projections. Operating 100% remotely on a US-aligned night shift, you will work closely under the supervision of onshore US senior staff, leveraging modern cloud platforms like ProConnect Tax Online to ensure strict compliance and error-free filings.

Your Impact

• Tax Preparation & Compliance: Prepare US federal and state tax returns under senior supervision, focusing heavily on Individual returns (Form 1040) and Business returns (Forms 1065 Partnership and 1120S S-Corporation).
• Data Reconciliations & System Entry: Enter and reconcile intricate tax data within ProConnect Tax Online, verifying that all entries map accurately to underlying source documentation.
• Tax Projections & Advisory Support: Assist with real-time tax projections and financial updates, enabling onshore accounting leaders to deliver proactive tax advisory to US clients.
• Document Review & Quality Control: Review client source documents (W-2s, 1099s, K-1s, balance sheets) for completeness and accuracy, proactively flagging missing data to prevent filing delays.
• Workpaper Management: Maintain meticulously organized digital workpapers, tax binders, and audit trails following firm checklists and strict compliance protocols.
• Collaborative Technical Refinement: Work directly with US onshore CPA teams, incorporating review feedback to continually refine your technical US tax knowledge and turnaround speed.

What You Bring

• The Experience: Prior experience or specialized training in US tax return preparation, with solid familiarity with standard US tax forms, schedules, and the US tax calendar.
• Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience or formal training in ProConnect Tax Online (or comparable US tax platforms like UltraTax, Lacerte, or Drake) is strongly preferred. Proficient in MS Excel for dataset management and reconciliations.
• Operational Discipline: Meticulous attention to detail, strong adherence to complex instructions, and the ability to thrive under a structured multi-tier review process in a deadline-driven season.
• Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal English communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with onshore US supervisors and draft clear document request follow-ups.
