Established in 1991, ALTIOS International is a leading firm focused on global expansion and cross-border investment services for SMEs and middle-market companies.
We are looking for a person interested in accounting, payroll and legal to join our Corporate Services team in Sao Paulo.
MISSIONS
You will be part of a multi-cultural team and deal with international clients and companies. Your role will be to support the Head of Corporate Services in the tax and accounting obligations of our clients' subsidiaries in Brazil, ensuring compliance and advising them on tax matters.
You will also take part in the development of the team in terms of processes, tools and tax compliance. This is a versatile position, far from a purely ‘tax filing’ role: you will perform diversified tasks as we position ourselves as a ‘subsidiary management’ partner.
There is also much room to grow within this position, take on more responsibilities, and develop new areas of expertise.
You will assist the Head of Corporate Services in the tax management of our clients' subsidiaries:
Calculating and controlling federal, state and municipal taxes (IRPJ, CSLL, PIS/COFINS, ICMS, ISS, IPI)
Preparing and filing tax returns and ancillary obligations (SPED EFD-Contribuições, EFD ICMS/IPI, ECD, ECF, DCTFWeb, EFD-Reinf)
Controlling withholding taxes on services and payments to suppliers and foreign entities (IRRF, CSRF, INSS, ISS)
Bookkeeping and tax reconciliations: checking ledger balances, tax payables and tax credits
Preparing tax provisions for monthly and annual closing, including deferred taxes
Following up on tax legislation changes, including the Brazilian tax reform (CBS/IBS transition), and assessing their impact for clients
Supporting clients on tax planning and cross-border transactions (remittances abroad, double tax treaties)
Reviewing clients' transfer pricing matters: mapping intercompany transactions and agreements, checking compliance with the Brazilian rules aligned with OECD standards (Law 14,596/2023), and reviewing TP documentation and its reporting in the ECF
Handling tax authority notices, tax clearance certificates (CND) and tax assessments
Supporting the team, when needed, on financial processes (accounts payable and receivable, cash reporting, monthly closing) and on consulting projects.
Liaising with the advisory team, ALTIOS subsidiaries and foreign headquarters
PROFILE
3 to 5 years of relevant experience in tax accounting or tax compliance, ideally in an audit firm, accounting firm or multinational company.
Degree in Accounting (Ciências Contábeis) with active CRC registration.
Solid knowledge of Brazilian direct and indirect taxes, SPED and ancillary obligations.
Good knowledge of Excel and ERP; experience with tax software would be a plus.
Solid knowledge of financial statements, Brazilian accounting and IFRS.
Fluent English is required; French would be a plus to communicate with our clients.
Rigorous, proactive and autonomous state of mind, with the willingness to take initiatives and suggest solutions.
Available as soon as possible
WHY JOIN US?
