About the Role
The Tax Analyst is an integral member of Latham’s Tax team. This role will serve as a tax specialist for the firm across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia (EMEA), with primary responsibility for income tax return schedules, tax compliance, tax procedures, and tax research projects. The Tax Analyst will collaborate closely with local and global accounting teams, analyse accounting and financial information, and prepare tax schedules for the firm’s partnership tax returns, branch and corporate income tax returns, and other EMEA tax compliance obligations. This role will be located in our London office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Other key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating with external tax advisors/accountants with respect to the preparation of tax filings in the EMEA region
- Reviewing and reconciling applicable accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and other financial reports, and performing quality assurance procedures
- Assisting with general tax administration such as handling and tracking tax payments/notices and preparing reconciliations
- Assisting in preparing cash flow estimates and income and tax estimates for the partners
- Working with the Tax Manager and Director of Tax on ad hoc tax projects
We’d love to hear from you if you:
- Demonstrate superior organisational and follow-through skills, performing work accurately with strong attention to detail
- Exhibit proficiency in preparing Excel reconciliations, identifying variances and presenting explanations and applicable resolutions
- Possess a good understanding of accounting concepts and knowledge of tax rules
And have:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- A Professional Accounting or Tax qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, ATT, CTA) (either completed or working towards completion), preferably
- Experience in general accounting concepts and/or partnership/corporate tax accounting
- Relevant experience with European, Middle East, and Asian tax compliance, preparing partnership tax returns, and corporate tax returns, preferably
- Related experience in a multi-office professional services organisation, preferably
