The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Join a litigation practice as a mid-level attorney representing clients in tax disputes. You will partner with a highly experienced senior lawyer, carry out legal research and produce persuasive written materials. The position contributes to building out a developing practice area.
What you'll do
- Assist a senior partner with tax-related litigation, both civil and criminal, and adjacent white-collar work.
- Represent clients in examinations, administrative appeals and enforcement actions before the tax authority.
- Argue tax disputes across specialized tax and federal trial-level courts.
- Research legal questions and prepare court filings, legal memos and similar documents.
- Counsel clients on compliance procedure, required filings and ways to avoid or reduce penalties.
- Work alongside fellow litigators on cases that raise tax questions.
What we're looking for
- 3 to 5 years of tax controversy experience, gained at a law firm, in a judicial clerkship or at a government agency focused on tax.
- A JD plus an LLM in Taxation, or current enrollment in an LLM program ending no later than Fall 2028.
- Excellent legal research and writing ability, with a writing sample reviewed during interviews.
- Active bar admission in the state of the chosen office, or a wave-in application close to completion.
- Willingness to work from one of the three office locations.

Compensation and benefits
- Base salary: USD 230,000 to 250,000 per year
