📃 Role Summary

A Boston-based tax and accounting firm, is seeking a Tax Manager to join their growing team. They specialize in serving content creators and service-based businesses, offering a unique understanding of their complex financial needs. This role is ideal for someone ready to step into a manager-level position, taking ownership of the full tax cycle for a portfolio of digital entrepreneur clients.

✅ Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review 1040s, Cs, and 1120s for content creator clients with revenues under $1M.
• Build and use sub-schedules to reconcile P&Ls before finalizing returns.
• Handle S-Corp basis tracking and AAA accounts with expertise.
• Identify and correct preparation errors before the review stage.
• Provide written feedback to junior preparers on errors when capacity allows.
• Manage client communication through TaxDome, resolving tax questions independently.
• Participate in client tax calls, assisting with savings walkthroughs and answering client questions.
• Oversee the work of one staff accountant, ensuring quality and accuracy.
• Coach staff on return quality and provide constructive feedback.

🎓 Requirements

• Proven experience in independently preparing 1040s and Cs.
• Experience in S-Corp / 1120S preparation, including basis tracking and AAA accounts.
• Knowledge of LLC taxation and multi-state / Nexus filing.
• Proficiency in cloud-based tax software.
• Ability to read and reconcile P&Ls, balance sheets, and K-1s.
• Active CPA or EA designation.
• Experience managing or overseeing junior tax staff is preferred.
• Familiarity with payroll and 401k knowledge for S-Corp clients is preferred.
• Interest in AI tools and their impact on tax preparation workflows.
• A natural curiosity and commitment to ongoing research and learning.
