Why You’ll Love This Role
Cribl is expanding its Tax team to meet Cribl’s rapidly growing needs! In this role, you’ll be part of a high-performing, small but mighty Tax team that partners with the accounting team and provides excellent cross-functional support to the rest of the business (e.g. Legal, Finance, People Team, Engineering and Business Systems). Having a great sense of humor and customer service mindset is imperative. At Cribl, we are irreverent but serious.
As An Active Member Of Our Team, You Will…
Manage federal, state, local and international income tax compliance, including extensions, estimated payments, information returns and foreign statutory or tax-return requirements.
Manage the quarterly and annual global income tax provision under ASC 740, including current and deferred taxes, valuation allowances, uncertain tax positions, tax-rate reconciliations, journal entries and disclosures.
Manage recurring and special projects involving R&D tax credits, IRC Section 382 limitations, state apportionment, tax attributes and other material corporate tax matters.
Support sales and use tax filings using tax software (e.g., Avalara), taxability studies, new product initiatives, and tax code mappings
File annual business license returns, property taxes, and gross receipt tax returns
Lead tax month end close processes, including accurately preparing and reviewing tax journal entries, tax general ledger account reconciliations, and meeting tax close deadlines
Manage tax IPO readiness initiatives and internal controls for a rapidly growing company preparing for public-company reporting and SOX expectations.
Build AI scalable tax processes, AI-driven tax workflows, AI automations, or AI system integrations for tax reporting and tax compliance
We are a remote-first company and work happens across many time-zones – you may be required to occasionally perform duties outside your standard working hours (if on call is not required)
If You’ve Got It - We Want It
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field; active CPA license or JD/LLM in taxation strongly preferred.
Eight or more years of relevant corporate tax experience, including public accounting and/or an in-house tax role in a high-growth business.
Strong technical knowledge of ASC 740, US GAAP tax accounting and financial-statement tax disclosures, with experience leading quarterly or annual provision work.
Solid US federal corporate tax foundation and experience overseeing multi-state and international income tax compliance.
Knowledge of international tax concepts, transfer pricing and intercompany transactions, with the ability to implement adviser recommendations in accounting and operating processes.
Experience using a tax software package to prepare income tax returns and tax provisions
Knowledge of international indirect taxes and US sales and use tax.
Adept at using tax research software tools and monitoring global tax law developments
A self-driven, positive attitude, thirst for learning, ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and solve problems.
Experience designing and shipping AI-driven workflows, automations, or system integrations for the tax function
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
