About the Role The Team Lead, Reimbursement Director (TL) serves as a critical player-coach within the ANI Rare Disease Patient Support organization, balancing direct patient access responsibilities with day-to-day leadership of a team of reimbursement professionals. This highly visible role is responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring consistent execution across patient cases, and fostering a high-performing, patient-centric team culture. While maintaining a portfolio of complex or escalated patient cases, the Team Lead provides frontline leadership, coaching, and oversight for Reimbursement Directors, Reimbursement Managers, Reimbursement Specialists, and Field Case Specialists. The Team Lead serves as the first point of escalation for reimbursement challenges, supports team development through ongoing coaching and performance management, and helps drive consistency in patient experience, compliance, and access outcomes. The Team Lead collaborates closely with internal and external stakeholders, including Nurse Access Specialists, Hub Case Managers, Specialty Pharmacies, Market Access, Compliance, Marketing, and Sales, to remove access barriers and ensure patients receive timely access to therapy. This role serves as both an operational leader and subject matter expert, helping to identify trends, improve processes, and elevate overall program performance. Key Responsibilities Patient Access & Case Management Provide proactive education to HCPs on insurance requirements and payer policies related to ANI Rare Disease Business Unit brands. Manage a limited number of complex reimbursement cases, maintaining direct engagement with HCP offices and patients. Partner with Hub case managers and in-network Specialty Pharmacies to support prior authorization submissions and follow-up. Facilitate access to patient assistance programs, including copay support and free goods, when applicable. Coordinate with Nurse Access Specialists to ensure alignment on patient support activities. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Market Access colleagues to stay informed on payer trends, policy changes, and access barriers. Collaborate with Sales colleagues when appropriate and in accordance with Compliance guidelines to support field education and account strategy. Serve as a subject matter expert on reimbursement and access, contributing insights to broader team initiatives. Leadership & Team Management Act as a player/coach, balancing individual case work with team leadership responsibilities. Mentor and coach team members, providing guidance on best practices, compliance, and patient-centric service. Monitor team productivity, workload distribution, case quality, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure operational objectives are achieved. Support onboarding and ongoing development of team members, fostering a culture of integrity, excellence, and collaboration. Conduct regular 1:1 meetings, team meetings, case reviews, and development discussions to ensure team effectiveness and engagement. Model professionalism, ethical conduct, and compliance in all interactions. Skills/Competencies Possesses a sense of urgency to address critical access issues for patients Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing demands while balancing individual contributor and leadership responsibilities. Problem-solver who navigates ambiguous or challenging access scenarios and quickly identifies solutions Proactive and takes initiative to move a patient case forward at all times Strong interpersonal and communication skills Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor’s Degree 10+ years of experience working in a patient access role for a specialty medication Demonstrated expertise with both pharmacy and medical benefit in a specialty disease market Strong collaboration with Hub partners and cross-functional colleagues Familiarity with OIG guidance, HIPAA guidelines and FDA protocols Ability to travel up to 25% with some evening and weekend commitments The base salary range for this position is $220,000-$260,000; the exact salary depends on various factors such as experience, skills, education, location, competencies and industry-specific knowledge. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a competitive short term and long-term incentive program based on performance and company results.
