We are seeking experienced and highly motivated Team Lead, Regional Finance to join our Record to Report organization.


This senior leadership role is responsible for managing a team of Legal Entity Controllers across several Stora Enso locations. The Team Lead oversees the financial, tax, and statutory compliance services delivered by the team and the external service provider where applicable.


The position reports to Head of Record to Report and is based in either Ostrava, Czechia, or Tallinn, Estonia.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Regional Finance team operations, ensuring accurate and timely delivery in line with defined indicators.
  • Oversee and ensure that statutory accounting, reporting, tax filings and other local compliance obligations are fulfilled accurately, efficiently, and in line with regulatory deadlines and internal quality standards.
  • Review team outputs, ensure strong internal controls performance and support the team in issue resolution.
  • Act as key contact point and foster strong, trust-based relationships with Finance Operations teams and other internal stakeholders, to ensure consistency and operational excellence in Record to Report delivery.
  • Implement and drive process standardization and continuous improvement initiatives across Legal Entity Controller community in Record to Report Service Tower.
  • Ensure service levels, deliverables, KPIs, and SLAs are met and aligned with internal expectations.
  • Define, monitor, and manage team and individual performance metrics.
  • Coach and develop team members by driving positive performance culture.
  • Conduct regular service review meetings with external service providers, monitor service quality, and proactively escalate and resolve issues where necessary.

Required Skills, Competencies and Experience

  • A degree in Finance, Accounting, Taxation, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CMA, CTA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
  • At least eight years of experience in finance, statutory accounting, tax compliance, or related areas.
  • Proven experience in operational team management and people leadership.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organizing skills.
  • Experience working in multinational environment across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Knowledge of statutory accounting, indirect and direct tax processes, and related compliance requirements.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, supported by demonstrated experience in process standardization.
  • Strong customer focused mindset with willingness and ability to influence and collaborate effectively in shared service and international environment.
  • Experience in ERP platforms such as SAP, as well as group reporting and tax or compliance reporting tools.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
