Team Lead – Technical Due Diligence

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Lead the delivery of Technical Due Diligence (TDD) and related building consultancy services for investors, lenders, developers, and corporate occupiers, ensuring high-quality outcomes and client satisfaction. Develop and grow key client relationships, identifying opportunities to expand services and generate new business. Drive business development through networking, market engagement, cross-sector collaboration, and the preparation of proposals and fee submissions. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, technical excellence, and accountability. Manage team resources, workload planning, and project delivery to ensure deadlines, quality standards, and commercial objectives are achieved. Oversee project financial performance, including budgeting, invoicing, fee recovery, and scope management. Provide strategic and operational updates to senior leadership and contribute to the ongoing growth and development of the TDD practice. Promote innovation, best practice, and compliance with company policies, professional standards, quality requirements, and health and safety procedures. Knowledge & Skills Required: High levels of integrity, professionalism, and sound commercial judgement. Energetic, self-motivated, and growth-oriented, with a strong client focus. Credible and influential communicator, capable of building trust with clients, colleagues, and industry stakeholders. Strong relationship-building skills with an established network in the real estate sector. Solution-oriented, with the ability to identify and manage technical and commercial risks. Effective leader with a collaborative approach to coaching, mentoring, and team development. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, transaction-driven environment with competing priorities. Proven ability to lead remote, cross-regional, and cross-cultural teams. Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time. Preferred Education and Experience: Degree in Building Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related discipline. Professional qualification such as MRICS, MCIOB, CEng, or equivalent. Significant experience delivering Technical Due Diligence, Vendor Due Diligence, or Building Consultancy services within the commercial real estate sector. Previous team leadership or people management experience, with responsibility for developing and managing technical professionals. Strong understanding of building systems, technical risk assessment, lifecycle costing, and capital expenditure planning. Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and delivering projects across a range of commercial real estate asset classes. Demonstrated success in business development, client relationship management, and achieving commercial growth targets. Experience working on cross-border transactions and within international, multidisciplinary environments is desirable.
