Team Lead Electronics Manufacturing (m/f/d)

At OHB, we specialize in the high-precision manufacturing of electronics for space applications and offer you the opportunity to take both technical and disciplinary responsibility for an innovative team. Our focus is on the production of one-off units and the development of customized solutions rather than industrial mass production of standardized assemblies. Complex manufacturing processes must be developed and established for implementation. Our products are typically required to operate flawlessly in orbit for 15 years. This requirement defines our manufacturing processes, particularly with regard to the definition and qualification of individual work steps.

Your Tasks

Technical and Disciplinary Leadership

• You will take technical and disciplinary responsibility for a team in electronics manufacturing with a focus on PCB assembly, electronics integration, and cable harness manufacturing.

Production Planning and Cross-Functional Collaboration

• You will plan and manage personnel deployment and manufacturing resources, taking into account delivery dates, capacities, and priorities.
• Together with department management, you will contribute to medium- and long-term capacity planning.
• You will support internal and external manufacturing projects already during the planning and preparation phase with your manufacturing expertise.

Quality and Compliance Responsibility

• You will ensure compliance with quality standards (e.g. ECSS-Q-ST-70-61C), manufacturing regulations, as well as customer-specific and regulatory requirements.
• You will also ensure the maintenance of relevant ECSS certifications within the team.

Team and Process Development

• Together with department management and the manufacturing team, you will initiate and support measures for the continuous improvement of processes, workflows, and manufacturing methods.
• Your focus will also include the continuous modernization and digitalization of manufacturing.
• You will promote the technical and personal development of your employees and support the development of future competencies within the team.

Strategic Development

• You will actively contribute to the strategic development of electronics manufacturing and introduce new technologies, manufacturing methods, and automation solutions into the organization.

Your Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a comparable technical field or, alternatively, further qualification as a state-certified technician or master craftsperson with many years of professional experience in electronics manufacturing
• Experience in the planning, control, and optimization of manufacturing processes
• Initial or several years of experience in the technical and/or disciplinary leadership of employees is desirable
• Knowledge of and experience with relevant standards and norms, ideally ECSS or IPC
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Good written and spoken English
• High sense of responsibility and quality awareness, combined with a structured and solution-oriented way of working
