Tech Lead – Java Backend | 14+ years experience

We are seeking an experienced Tech Lead – Java Backend to lead technical teams and drive architecture discussions for a leading financial services client. The ideal candidate will have hands-on backend engineering expertise along with proven experience leading technical teams, mentoring developers, and driving architectural decisions. This is a hybrid role requiring onsite presence in either Pittsburgh, PA or Dallas, TX.

• Java (Core, J2EE)
• Spring Boot
• Microservices
• Apache Kafka
• Apache Flink
• Flowable / Camunda / any other BPM tool
• Strong Technical Leadership experience
• Proven experience driving architecture discussions

• Lead technical teams and drive architecture discussions
• Design and develop scalable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices
• Build and maintain event-driven systems using Apache Kafka and Apache Flink
• Work with BPM tools (Flowable/Camunda) for workflow orchestration
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions
• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to team members
• Drive best practices in coding, testing, and deployment
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to architectural standards

• 13+ years of hands-on backend engineering experience
• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices
• Experience with Apache Kafka and Apache Flink
• Experience with Flowable, Camunda, or any other BPM tool
• Proven technical leadership and architecture experience
• All visa types accepted except H1B
• No C2C – Full Time / W2 only
• Willingness to work hybrid onsite in Pittsburgh, PA or Dallas, TX
