Are you looking for limitless career opportunities with a company that values growth, innovation, and teamwork? At Ntiva, we're more than a Managed Services Provider, we're a community dedicated to helping each other, our clients, and their businesses thrive both personally and professionally. Ntiva is a culture of people who are passionate about the work, and each other.

Our clients view us as an essential part of their teams, relying on us for strategic guidance, fast solutions to complex challenges, and proactive support. With strategic locations across the U.S. and leadership from our founder, Steven Freidkin, we're on the front lines of a fast-paced industry, facing cybersecurity threats and rapid technology changes together.

If you thrive in a dynamic, supportive environment and enjoy going above and beyond, we'd love to meet you. Come explore one of our many opportunities and grow with us!

How you'll make an Impact

As the Technical Account Manager (TAM) for Ntiva's GovCon practice, you own the relationship, the retention, and the growth of a book of government contractor accounts. You are the client's technically fluent point of contact: you understand their environment and their business, know at a business level where they sit in their CMMC / NIST 800-171 journey, and connect them to the right mix of managed IT, security, compliance, and advisory services.

Location and Work Expectations

  • This is a hybrid-remote (60% client facing, 40% remote) role requiring travel to client locations throughout the Chicagoland area. The specific allocation of remote versus onsite requirements may fluctuate based on business needs.
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am - 5pm CST
  • Must have a valid driver's license and insured vehicle.

What you will be doing

Account ownership and relationships

  • Serve as the trusted technical advisor and primary relationship owner for a book of GovCon accounts, building durable, multi-level relationships from the help-desk contact to the CEO, CFO, and Facility Security Officer.
  • Manage approx $2.5M to $4M in yearly recurring revenue.
  • Hold in-person and remote meetings with clients to discuss strategy, budgets, and roadmaps to drive their IT forward.
  • Lead quarterly business reviews (QBRs) covering service performance, open issues, and upcoming lifecycle needs, and capture the client's priorities for the next quarter.

Technology and business impact

  • Understand each client's environment at a working level (Microsoft 365 / GCC High, identity, endpoints, network, backup, security tooling) so you can speak to it credibly, notice lifecycle gaps and recurring service problems, and bring in the right Ntiva team.
  • Walk clients through Ntiva's standard recommendations (backup and disaster recovery, endpoint protection, email security, MFA, patching) and explain the business impact in plain terms.
  • Translate between engineers and clients: ask the right questions of our technical teams, then explain the answer and its business impact clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Compliance alignment

  • Understand at a business level where each client sits in their CMMC / NIST 800-171 journey (assessment timing, current readiness effort) and use that understanding to surface the right next services.
  • Recognize security- and compliance-driven needs and know when to bring in Ntiva's vCISO and compliance teams to advise, scope, and deliver. You open the door and quarterback the relationship; the specialists own the control-level depth.
  • Bring the compliance team into any project or service change that could touch the client's CUI environment before it is scoped.

Growth and renewals

  • Identify and close opportunities to consistently achieve quarterly sales goals.
  • Position and sell Ntiva's GovCon portfolio: managed IT, security, compliance (CMMC readiness and ongoing assurance), and AI-managed services, matching solutions to each client's maturity and goals.
  • Communicate new product and service offerings to clients.
  • Manage and execute agreement renewals, knowing whether clients have the right mix of services and assessing whether there are opportunities to add services.
  • Identify clients who are at risk and develop retention strategies.

Projects, escalations, and service quality

  • Work with the solution architect team to scope client projects; contribute the client context, constraints, and compliance boundary that a good scope depends on.
  • Act as the client's escalation point for service issues: coordinate with Service Delivery and project teams, set and manage client expectations, and see escalations through to resolution.
  • On-board new clients while collaborating with the new business development team.
  • Share client feedback with relevant Ntiva teams and collaborate to ensure client expectations are being set and met.
  • Communicate Ntiva service, technology, and internal integration changes to clients on a regular basis.

Administration

  • Maintain accurate account records and meeting notes.
  • Review client invoices monthly and work with the finance department on any needed changes.
  • Engage with clients who have 60+ day past-due balances.
  • Other duties as assigned.

You'll be successful in this role if you bring

  • 3 to 5 years of client-facing experience in the IT industry, at least 1 of them at a Managed Services Provider in a Technical Account Manager, Service Delivery Manager, Senior Account Manager, or client-facing senior engineer role.
  • A track record of retaining and growing a book of business through strong, trusted client relationships.
  • Technical knowledge across the MSP stack: Microsoft 365 and Entra ID, Windows Server and virtualization, networking and firewalls, endpoint and email security, backup and disaster recovery, and RMM / PSA tooling. Enough to understand what is happening in a client environment, identify risk, and hold credible conversations with engineers and senior client stakeholders. Hands-on administration is not required.
  • Experience supporting clients subject to CMMC, NIST 800-171, or DFARS 252.204-7012, with enough working familiarity to hold credible client conversations, understand where a client is in their journey, and recognize a compliance-driven need. Control-level expertise lives with our vCISO and compliance teams.
  • The ability to discuss technical issues with engineers and then explain them clearly, in business terms, to non-technical clients.
  • Experience coordinating work across service desk, project, and engineering teams and managing client expectations through escalations.
  • Superior people skills; client-service and relationship oriented.
  • Excellent writing skills and the ability to draft detailed, clear correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate and cooperate across departments in order to obtain the information needed.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a tactful and professional demeanor.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Highly organized with strong time-management skills.
  • This role involves extended periods of sitting or standing and regular use of computers and office equipment.

Required language skills

  • Ability to communicate professionally, in English, both written and orally.
  • Ability to write business correspondence and process procedures.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and the general public.

Bonus points for

  • CMMC Registered Practitioner (RP) or CMMC Certified Professional (CCP).
  • Experience supporting GovCon or defense-contractor clients, including Microsoft GCC High environments.
  • Technical certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified (MS-900, MS-102), Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900), CompTIA Security+ or Network+, or an ITIL Foundation certification.
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Business, Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
  • Experience with the ConnectWise family of products or a similar service-management system, and with IT Glue or similar documentation platforms.
  • Prior hands-on engineering or systems administration experience at an MSP.

Benefits and Perks

  • Medical, Dental and Vision coverage for employee and family.
  • 401k + company-matched contributions — 4% match on 5% contribution, no vesting period! (Employee and Company contribute after 90 days.)
  • Group Term Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment coverage (company provided).
  • Short-Term (voluntary enrollment) and Long-Term Disability coverage (company provided).
