Technical Architect & Development Lead

JOB OVERVIEW

Plan A Technologies is looking for an experienced Technical Architect & Development Lead to lead our software development team, strengthen our technical architecture, and drive improvements in engineering practices. This role combines hands-on technical leadership, team management, architecture modernization, and collaboration with Product Owners and IT leadership. The ideal candidate will also help shape our AI adoption strategy.

Please note: you must have at least 10+ years of hands-on software development experience, with deep expertise in C#/.NET in Agile environments and 5+ years in a technical leadership role to be considered for this role.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

• Architect, identify weaknesses, and define a modernization and refactoring roadmap.

• Oversee software development practices to improve code quality, documentation, and delivery efficiency.

• Drive the implementation and optimization of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automated testing.

• Establish engineering standards, performance metrics, and development best practices.

• Collaborate with Product Owners, QA, and IT leadership to align technical priorities with business objectives.

• Provide technical guidance for system integrations, legacy modernization, data platforms, and customer-facing applications.

• Explore AI tools to improve development productivity and contribute to business-focused AI initiatives.

• Ensure scalable, secure, and maintainable architecture across enterprise applications.

EXPERIENCE

• 10+ years of hands-on software development experience, with deep expertise in C#/.NET in Agile environments.

• 5+ years in a technical leadership role, demonstrating success in leading project delivery and team support without relying on a dedicated project manager.

• Strong understanding of software design principles, development best practices, and SDLC processes—including documentation and testing.

• Proven experience designing scalable, maintainable Azure-based applications using Azure Functions and serverless architectures.

• Strong expertise in Azure SQL Server—capable of designing and optimizing performant database structures.

• Hands-on experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs.

• Experience integrating and utilizing AI tools in enterprise applications.

• Strategic thinker who can bridge the gap between business goals and technical execution, ensuring successful delivery from discovery to deployment while balancing technical perfection with business goals.

• Solid grounding in computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis, and object-oriented design.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows.

• Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, agile, results-driven environments, proactively removing blockers and maintaining momentum.

• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills with the ability to conduct demos, explain technical concepts clearly, and interface with diverse stakeholders.

• Strong problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve

• technical issues quickly.

• Experience working across multiple time zones or with international teams is a plus.

• Comfortable managing discovery processes independently, ensuring early alignment and ongoing progress throughout the project lifecycle.
