Redaptive was founded in 2015 and is headquartered in Denver, CO. Redaptive is backed by CarVal, ENGIE New Ventures, Linse Capital, CBRE, Evergy Ventures, Rabobank, CPP Investments, and Honeywell.

Our company culture is exciting, collaborative, and fast paced. We are passionate about changing the world and helping our customers to become more environmentally sustainable and profitable. Maintenance budgets are fixed when a customer contract is signed, and the equipment behind them runs for 10 years or more. As a Technical Asset Manager, Mechanical & Solar Systems at Redaptive, you will decide how every maintenance dollar is spent to maximize system availability and energy output across heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), mechanical, process, and solar photovoltaic (PV) assets. You will execute Redaptive’s contractual obligations to customers and deliver the financial outcomes those contracts were underwritten to produce.

This role sits within the Customer Experience & Support (CES) team and covers the full Redaptive portfolio. It works directly with project, operations, and customer-facing teams, and with third-party maintenance contractors. When the right call exceeds the contracted budget, you will build the business case, lead the internal approval process, and carry the decision through execution.

This role is based in Denver, Colorado and follows Redaptive's hybrid work model.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Asset Performance and Spend Allocation
  • Decide where maintenance dollars go to maximize uptime and energy output for each asset and for the portfolio as a whole.
  • Quantify the return on each spending option, measured in availability gained, energy output protected, and failure cost avoided, so dollars go where they produce the most.
  • Decide repair, replace, or defer using condition data, remaining useful life, and lifecycle cost.
  • Own spend decisions within contracted project maintenance budgets.
  • Contract Execution
  • Read executed customer contracts and translate maintenance obligations, performance guarantees, and budgets into an asset-level plan.
  • Hold Redaptive to every maintenance, uptime, and performance commitment in the contract.
  • Resolve unclear contract language and conflicting priorities with a documented, defensible decision.
  • Track warranty coverage and pursue claims.
  • Financial Outcomes
  • Build business cases for spend beyond budget, ranging from thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars, and lead the internal approval process.
  • Weigh the cost of spending more now against the cost of failures, warranty exposure, and guarantee penalties later.
  • Protect contract margin by keeping maintenance cost and performance risk within underwritten assumptions.
  • Report on asset performance, spend against budget, and forecast risk to leadership.
  • Contractor Management and Team Support
  • Manage maintenance contractors directly: define scope, negotiate pricing, track performance, and handle escalations.
  • Advise project, operations, and customer-facing teammates on how to handle contract and equipment scenarios.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Abilities and Skills:

  • Engineering background, or equivalent hands-on experience, with HVAC, mechanical, or solar systems.
  • Experience managing operations and maintenance (O&M) or service contracts and budgets.
  • Project or vendor management experience.
  • A record of building financial business cases, including lifecycle cost and repair-versus-replace analysis.
  • Sound judgment when contracts, data, or priorities conflict, and the ability to reach a defensible decision.
  • Articulate communicator able to adapt technical depth to any audience, from executives to facility operators and contractors.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization abilities to handle multiple sites and projects simultaneously.
  • Preferred: experience with performance guarantees or energy service contracts.
  • Preferred: familiarity with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Preferred: process equipment experience.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience. Required.
  • 5–10 years of combined engineering, asset management, and project or contract experience.
  • Required. We weigh the scope of decisions you have owned over total years.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or similar credential preferred.
