What you’ll do | Hei mahi

We're seeking a commercially-minded, technical Data Analyst to help support the operation and evolution of our high use, high impact commercial analytics platform to drive positive commercial outcomes.


The team works closely with the WWNZ Commercial leadership and Category teams. The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded skillset in SQL, Python and Excel to deliver robust analytical solutions and diagnose complex data issues.


Specifically, the role involves:

  • Operation and evolution of business-facing toolkits (Excel front end, dbt & Python backend).

  • Execution of data pipeline refreshes, development of new features and contribution to ongoing continuous improvement roadmaps.

  • Debugging and resolving tooling errors, prioritizing solutions and ensuring thorough testing.

  • Monitoring tool inboxes and resolving stakeholder queries.

  • Ensuring high-quality technical work, adhering to best practice for robust analytical solutions.

  • Collaboration with wider analytics teams (NZ, AU and India) and stakeholders on wider analytics initiatives.


What you’ll bring | Hei koha


You'll harness your strong Excel, SQL, Python and dbt expertise in a small squad of technical analysts to deliver high-impact analytical solutions.


To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • At least 2 years working experience in analytics (preferably commercial)

  • Proficient in writing and understanding complex SQL queries. Working knowledge of data modeling and engineering principles are beneficial.

  • Well versed in Python (Pandas, Numpy etc) and GitHub workflows.

  • Strong Excel skills including functions, macro-driven automation and data visualisation. Experience with VBA and Google Sheets is beneficial.

  • Familiarity with commercial processes in the retail or FMCG industry is highly beneficial, but not mandatory.

  • Strong attention to detail, ability to communicate findings clearly, and eagerness to learn and contribute to team projects

  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant disciplines like Statistics, Data Science, or Computer Science are preferred.
