We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge.

About The Role

As Technical Delivery Manager, you will lead a specialist team responsible for the delivery, support and governance of Workday and our wider People Systems landscape. You will provide strong technical delivery leadership, ensuring solutions are delivered effectively while maintaining high levels of service performance and platform security.

Reporting to the Head of Colleague Solutions, you will manage a team of 6–8 colleagues and work closely with the Technical Solution Owner, People & Culture teams, and external partners to deliver business value through technology. The core focus of this role will be in managing the team of skilled engineers, enabling them to deliver high-quality outcomes, providing guidance when needed.

Additional responsibilities and accountabilities include:

  • Managing and developing a skilled HR Solutions Delivery team, providing coaching, technical guidance and career development support.
  • Acting as a technical subject matter expert for Workday and People Systems, ensuring best-practice configuration and implementation approaches.
  • Leading specialist 2nd and 3rd line support services, ensuring service levels are consistently achieved or exceeded.
  • Owning security, access governance, data governance and audit readiness across supported platforms.
  • Driving ITIL-aligned service management practices, incident resolution and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Managing third-party suppliers and implementation partners to ensure successful delivery outcomes.
  • Contributing to the People Systems roadmap and overseeing regular development and release cycles.
  • Ensuring all solutions meet quality, testing, architecture and service transition standards.
  • Building strong relationships across Technology and People & Culture teams to support organisational objectives.

This position has been classified as a hybrid role, requiring the selected candidate to typically spend 40-60% of their time collaborating and connecting face-to-face at their dedicated location. Aside from our hybrid principles, other flexible working requests will be considered from the first day of employment, including other work arrangements should you require adjustments due to a disability or long-term health condition.

About You

To be successful, you'll demonstrate:
