UL Solutions Renewables is seeking a Technical Due Diligence Intern to support our Project Managers and technical teams. The role covers project coordination, project planning, reporting, and the technical review of renewable energy projects.


This internship is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with a hybrid working model.

It offers hands-on experience in project management and technical advisory work in the renewable energy sector. This includes Technical Advisory (TA) services for wind, solar PV and BESS projects.

As a Technical Advisory Intern, you will support the team with the following tasks:

  • Assist Project Managers with the day-to-day running of TA projects, including scope, schedule and budget tracking.
  • Help prepare proposals, including the scope of work, team, budget and schedule.
  • Take part in client meetings and conference calls, and track action items and follow-ups.
  • Help review electrical design/civil design documents, construction schedules, and CAPEX and OPEX costs.
  • Help identify project risks, issues and possible ways to reduce them, working with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Support the preparation of technical review reports, construction monitoring reports and operational assessment reports.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and other team projects as required and support the development of AI-enabled tools to improve project delivery, reporting, and team workflows.
  • Support general project and team administration and organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Civil Engineering or other engineering disciplines related to renewable energy.
  • Interest in project management and the renewable energy sector, particularly wind, solar PV, and BESS.
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems and of power system basics, such as substations, grid connection and protection is an advantage.
  • A previous internship, academic project or other relevant practical experience in renewable energy, power systems or project management is an advantage.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken. French or other languages are an advantage.
  • Willingness to learn, have a proactive attitude, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Be highly motivated, with a versatile personality and excellent interpersonal skills.
