About RevoData
RevoData is a boutique Data & AI consultancy and proud Databricks Gold partner. We focus exclusively on Databricks, allowing us to go deep and do things properly. We help companies across Europe unlock the value in their data, helping them design and build scalable platforms that support real business use cases.
We foster a no-ego, no nonsense culture where collaboration, proactivity and knowledge sharing are part of everyday work.

Training is a core part of RevoData’s offering. Whether companies are adopting Databricks for the first time, scaling their data platform, or upskilling their teams in Data Engineering, BI, ML or GenAI — our instructors play a crucial role in helping them succeed.
As our Technical Instructor Team Lead, you will deliver high-quality Databricks trainings to data professionals across Europe, with a strong focus on virtual sessions. You’ll guide learners through complex concepts in an engaging, structured way and ensure every training — whether 4 hours or multi-day — is impactful and smooth from start to finish.
Alongside teaching, you’ll help strengthen and streamline how we run our training operations and sales: coordinating schedules, improving processes, running pre-delivery scoping calls, developing custom curriculum and working closely with our internal team and Databricks to continuously raise the bar.
The Role & Opportunity
This is a pivotal player-coach role designed for a skilled technologist with natural leadership instincts.
- The Initial Split: Your time will start at approximately 70% hands-on training delivery, 30% team management, scheduling, and operational strategy.
- The Long-Term Trajectory: As you expand our delivery capacity, build out an internal bench of instructors, and grow a network of vetted external contractors, your time allocation will naturally shift toward management, strategic planning, and operational leadership. Depending on your personal ambitions and success in scaling the practice, this role can evolve into a full-scale practice leadership role.
About You
You have a passion for teaching and a natural ability to explain technical concepts clearly. Whether you come from a Data Engineering, analytics, software engineering or similar technical background, you're confident writing Python and SQL and enjoy learning new technologies while helping others develop their technical skills.
You enjoy being in front of a group — virtual or in-person — and you know how to hold attention, adjust your communication style, and keep learners engaged even in the seventh hour of training. You’re calm, patient, structured, and genuinely enjoy supporting others in their learning journey. You don’t need Databricks expertise on day one — we’ll give you dedicated time in your first months to learn, get certified, and ramp up before delivering your first training.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver engaging Databricks trainings across Data Engineering, BI, Machine Learning, and GenAI - primarily virtual and in English.
- Ensure smooth training operations: coordinating schedules, preparing materials, managing the training Slack channels, and handling last-minute requests when they arise.
- Guide learners through complex technical topics in a structured, clear and approachable way, adjusting your style to the needs of the group.
- Collaborate closely with our instructors and Databricks to strengthen our training program and maintain high delivery standards.
- Take ownership of improving how training is organised - from spotting inefficiencies to proposing and implementing better ways of working.
- Play a key role in growing our virtual training capacity, helping RevoData meet increasing demand while ensuring consistency and quality.
- Take end-to-end ownership of the training calendar: balance instructor workloads, prevent delivery burnout, and optimize calendar utilization.
- Build out our wider instructor bench: recruit, evaluate, onboard, and manage external technical contractors and freelance trainers to meet fluctuating enterprise demand.
- Partner with sales and account managers to run technical pre-delivery scoping calls with enterprise clients.
What You Bring
- Hands-on Technical Depth: Strong programming proficiency in Python and SQL. You must be comfortable troubleshooting, modifying, and live-coding data pipelines and analytical workflows alongside learners.
- Leadership & Team Building Potential: Demonstrable ability or strong aptitude to manage people, delegate tasks, supervise technical contractors, and scale a high-performing delivery team.
- Operational Ownership: A structured, organized mindset with the confidence to run calendars, manage logistics, and coordinate multi-instructor schedules under tight timelines.
- Pre-Sales & Technical Scoping Skills: Confident presence in front of enterprise clients; able to uncover technical requirements, set expectations, and map out tailored training plans.
- Exceptional Communication: Clear, energetic, and empathetic presentation skills. You can command a room—virtual or in-person—keep learners engaged across multi-day bootcamps, and handle repetitive or challenging technical questions with patience.
- Language & Travel: Professional English proficiency (written and spoken). Willingness to travel up to ~20% of the time, primarily within the EU for enterprise engagements.
- Tech Playground: Love experimenting? So do we. Play around with Databricks AI/BI, Genie, Agent Bricks, Vector Search, Terraform, Terragrunt, Asset Bundles, CI/CD, monitoring & alerting tools, Cursor, and more.
- Unlimited Learning: Take advantage of our partner academies, weekly workshops, and lunch & learns.
- Fun Clubs & Activities: Join our climbing club, padel club, kickboxing sessions, Dutch club, or start your own!
- Work-Life Balance & Prime Location: We trust you to get the job done — whether you're an early bird or a night owl. Our hybrid setup includes Wednesdays together at our Amsterdam HQ (located right in the heart of Amsterdam with excellent train and metro connections), and for the rest of the week, it's up to you: work from home or collaborate from the office.
- Wellbeing & Mobility: €75 net monthly wellbeing budget to spend however you like (gym memberships, bouldering gear, Calm app subscriptions, etc.), plus gym access and e-bike access.
- Allowances: Monthly work-from-home, travel, and internet/phone allowances.
- Additional Perks: Pension plan, regular community events, quarterly team outings, and workation options!
We'd Love to Meet You!
- If you resonate with our technology, culture, and vision, we're excited to meet you! Apply directly through this vacancy, our website, or connect on LinkedIn. We appreciate a CV that goes beyond your experience — a favorite podcast, a book recommendation, or a fun fact are always welcome!
- We value getting to know you better, and our final interview takes place in person at our central Amsterdam office. Please note, we do not cover interview travel costs or relocation expenses and cannot provide visa sponsorships as we are not registered as a recognized sponsor. Candidates who already hold the right to work in the Netherlands or elsewhere in the EU and are open to relocating are welcome to apply.
