Job Description

At Schneider Electric, we are committed to solving real-world problems to create a sustainable, digitalised and new electrical future. Data centers are at the heart of this transformation: the rise of cloud and AI is driving unprecedented demand for reliable, efficient and sustainable power infrastructure.

Our Cloud & Service Providers Solution Center Europe designs and delivers end-to-end electrical solutions for the world’s leading hyperscalers and colocation providers, on some of the largest data center programs in Europe.

Your role

Within the C&SP Solution Center Europe, you will be the technical reference for up to three strategic data center accounts. You will lead the technical side of tenders, from early prescription with the customer’s central teams to the handover to execution.

Acting as the “conductor” of the solution, you will bring together Schneider Electric’s engineers, subject matter experts, our Regional Support Platform, factories and partners into one coherent, competitive and executable technical offer. This is a highly customer-facing technical leadership role: you will lead functionally, without necessarily having direct reports.

Where you will spend your time: pre-tender and prescription (moderate) · tenders and technical clarifications (core of the role) · execution oversight after handover (light).

Your missions

Customer interface & technical prescription

  • Act as the primary technical contact for your customers on electrical design topics, building trust through clear and credible exchanges.
  • Engage with customers’ central engineering teams ahead of RFQs to understand their technical drivers and influence design choices.
  • Lead technical workshops and explain complex concepts, design choices and trade-offs to senior customer stakeholders.

Tender leadership

  • Review RFQs and technical documentation; define and validate the technical architecture, design assumptions and compliance matrices.
  • Coordinate all technical contributors (engineers, experts, Regional Support Platform, factories, suppliers and partners) and keep them aligned with the RFQ and the tender timeline.
  • Lead post-submission clarifications: defend technical choices, assess requested inclusions and exclusions, and coordinate revisions to build the strongest final proposal.
  • Ensure tender commitments are technically sound, competitive and executable, and comply with Schneider Electric governance on quality, safety and cybersecurity.

Execution oversight & continuous improvement

  • Hand over awarded projects to the execution teams and keep oversight through regular touchpoints; support the technical assessment of changes and variation orders.
  • Promote standardization and reuse of customer-approved solutions across countries; capture lessons learned and best practices.
  • Act as technical referent for zone and country technical leaders on your accounts.

Typical scope: MV and LV systems, transformers, UPS, busways, E-house integration, with interfaces to cooling, BMS and power monitoring (EPMS). Dedicated cooling and UPS experts support the team.

Your profile

  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • At least 7 years’ experience leading the technical scope of customer projects, ideally large and international.
  • Solid electrical design foundations in LV and MV, and a good understanding of UPS systems. Knowledge of transformers and busways is appreciated.
  • Tender or bid experience: you have worked on RFQs or technical offers and know how to deliver under compressed timelines.
  • Direct experience with demanding customers, in a customer-facing technical role.
  • Data center experience is a strong advantage. We also welcome backgrounds from EPC contractors, engineering and consulting firms, oil & gas or other critical infrastructure.
  • Fluent English; additional languages are a plus.

Your competences

  • Functional leadership: you coordinate multidisciplinary teams without hierarchical authority, take ownership and act proactively.
  • Influence & communication: you communicate clearly and concisely on complex technical strategy, and convince stakeholders of the right approach.
  • Stakeholder management: you handle conflicting priorities and tough conversations with customers and internal teams.
  • Cross-cultural agility: you are at ease in a matrix, multinational environment and adapt your approach to different cultures.
  • Technical rigour & growth mindset: you read and apply international standards and keep learning, sharing knowledge and coaching others.

What we offer

  • Exposure to some of the largest and most strategic data center programs in Europe, with leading global customers.
  • A strong support network: dedicated cooling, UPS and data center architecture experts, plus a Regional Support Platform of engineers.
  • Training on data center architecture and Schneider Electric’s portfolio.
  • A clear career path towards Senior Technical Leader and Solution Architect roles.
  • Hybrid working and flexibility on location: the role is open across Europe (for example Spain, Portugal, Poland, France, Romania, Italy, the UK or Ireland). Relocation support can be discussed.
