Wiser Technology is a leading software development company. Our team of 600 engineers across Europe excels in web and mobile software development, video streaming, defense, machine learning, automotive, e-commerce, space, and AI. We leverage top-tier technologies and expertise driven by a passion for innovation to drive progress.
Do you want to turn satellite data into products that people rely on?
We're looking for a Technical Product Manager (senior or mid-level) to own and grow Wiser's Earth Observation (EO) application portfolio. You will work closely with our Automotive, Aerospace and Defence Business Unit to shape how Wiser builds and delivers EO solutions.
In this role, you will define the vision and roadmap for each EO application, from input data and processing chains to validated output products. You will work with engineering teams, data scientists and clients to combine satellite data with in-situ, GIS and model data, and to deliver accurate, well-documented products for European and global customers.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
-
Own the EO application portfolio: define the product vision, scope and roadmap for each application.
-
Work closely with the Automotive, Aerospace and Defence Business Unit to develop and position Wiser's EO portfolio.
-
Translate user and customer needs into clear requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
-
Own and prioritise the product backlog together with the development team.
-
Define the EO processing logic: input data, pre-processing, algorithms, validation approach and output products.
-
Decide on data sources, sensor combinations and integration with non-EO data (in-situ, GIS, statistical and model data).
-
Ensure product quality through accuracy assessment, validation against reference data and complete documentation.
-
Engage with clients, partners and institutional stakeholders, building trust and long-term partnerships.
-
Monitor the EO market and funding landscape to identify new opportunities for the portfolio.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
-
Master's degree or PhD in remote sensing, geoinformatics, physics, computer science, environmental science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
-
3+ years of experience in Earth Observation (5+ for a senior role), including experience leading projects or owning products.
-
Solid understanding of EO data from different sensor types (optical, multispectral and SAR), including their physical basis, limitations and typical processing chains: radiometric and atmospheric correction, geometric processing, cloud masking and SAR pre-processing.
-
Experience combining EO data with other sources: in-situ measurements, GIS/vector data, model outputs, and statistical or administrative data.
-
Familiarity with the Copernicus ecosystem and data access (e.g., Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem, Copernicus services).
-
Proven experience with requirements, user stories, and backlog management in an agile team.
-
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to align technical and business priorities.
-
Fluent English, written and spoken.
-
Willingness to travel regularly, e.g., to client sites and ESA/EU meetings.
-
EU citizenship and eligibility for security clearance, required for defence-related work.
NICE TO HAVE:
-
Experience with EU tenders (e.g. ESA, Horizon Europe, EUSPA calls).
-
Exposure to machine learning applied to EO (classification, change detection, segmentation).
-
Background in one or more application domains: agriculture, land monitoring, infrastructure, marine and coastal, climate or security.
-
Hands-on experience with cloud-based EO processing (e.g., openEO, STAC catalogues, Google Earth Engine, Sentinel Hub).
-
Experience working in the aerospace or defence sector.
