Technical Product Manager - Digital Experience Apply here We usually respond within a week Collinson is the global, privately-owned company dedicated to helping the world to travel with ease and confidence. The group offers a unique blend of industry and sector specialists who together provide market-leading airport experiences, loyalty and customer engagement, and insurance solutions for over 400 million consumers. Collinson is the operator of Priority Pass, the world’s original and leading airport experiences programme. Travellers can access a network of 1,500+ lounges and travel experiences, including dining, retail, sleep and spa, in over 650 airports in 148 countries, helping to elevate the journey into something special. We work with the world’s leading payment networks, over 1,400 banks, 90 airlines and 20 hotel groups worldwide. We have been bringing innovation to the market since inception – from launching the first independent global VIP lounge access Programme, Priority Pass to being the first to sell direct travel insurance in the UK through Columbus Direct and creating the first loyalty agency of its kind in the travel sector with ICLP. Today we still invest heavily in innovation to ensure that we continue to deliver superior customer experiences. Key clients include Mastercard, American Express, Cathay Pacific, British Airways, LATAM, Flying Blue, Accor, EasyJet, HSBC, Chase, HDFC. Our mission is focused on doing good beyond profit, which for us means we seek out opportunities for our people to share in our success and that we give back to the communities and people within which we work. Never short of ambition, the success of our business is delivered through the diverse and talented team of over 2,200 global colleagues. Purpose of the job As a Technical Product Manager for our Digital Experience Backend team, you will own the backend product capabilities that power our customer-facing App and Web experiences. You will provide a single point of product ownership for backend demand across Digital Experience: shaping asks into clear problems and outcomes, setting priorities, maintaining the roadmap and backlog and partnering with Engineering to deliver secure, scalable and reusable services. You will connect the needs of App and Web product teams with the wider platform strategy, balancing new capabilities, migrations, operational resilience and technical health to maximise customer and business value. Key Responsibilities : Backend Product Strategy and Ownership • Own the vision, strategy and outcome-led roadmap for the Digital Experience backend capabilities that support App and Web. • Act as the central product owner for backend development asks from App and Web teams, creating one transparent and prioritised view of demand. • Define clear ownership and boundaries across digital backend services, shared platforms and dependent teams, reducing duplication and bespoke solutions. • Align the roadmap with digital experience, architecture, platform and business strategies, including migrations from legacy services. Demand Management and Prioritisation • Establish and run a consistent intake and triage process for backend asks, ensuring requests are understood, evidenced and technically assessed before entering the backlog. • Translate App and Web needs into reusable backend capabilities rather than channel-specific point solutions wherever possible. • Prioritise work using customer value, commercial value, risk, regulatory needs, technical dependencies, effort and strategic alignment. • Manage dependencies, sequencing and trade-offs across multiple digital products and communicate decisions clearly to stakeholders. Discovery, Definition and Delivery • Lead discovery with Product, Engineering, Architecture, Design, Data, Security and operational teams to define the problem, target outcome and viable solution approach. • Own epics, requirements, acceptance criteria and product decisions for APIs, integrations, identity and account services, search, transactions and other shared digital capabilities. • Partner closely with Engineering throughout delivery, providing timely decisions, removing ambiguity and keeping scope focused on the intended outcome. • Plan releases and migrations with consuming App and Web teams, including backward compatibility, rollout, adoption, operational readiness and decommissioning of legacy capabilities. Performance, Reliability and Stakeholder Leadership • Define and track measures for adoption, service performance, reliability, delivery effectiveness and the customer outcomes enabled through App and Web. • Use data, incidents, service insight and stakeholder feedback to identify improvements and inform roadmap decisions. • Balance feature delivery with security, resilience, observability, scalability, technical debt and ongoing platform health. • Provide clear roadmap, progress, risk and dependency updates, influencing senior stakeholders and resolving competing priorities across teams. Knowledge, skills and experience required Essential experience and technical understanding • Strong product management experience in a technical, platform, API, integration or backend-focused product area. • Proven ownership of a roadmap and backlog serving multiple customer-facing products, channels or consuming teams. • Ability to translate customer and business needs into clear technical product outcomes, requirements and acceptance criteria. • Working knowledge of APIs, service-based architecture, system integrations, data flows, identity and access, and cloud-based digital platforms. • Experience partnering closely with engineers and architects, with the confidence to challenge assumptions and make informed trade-offs without acting as the solution architect. • Experience managing cross-team dependencies, legacy migrations, backward compatibility and phased releases. • Strong prioritisation and decision-making skills, supported by data, value, risk and technical insight. Desirable experience and ways of working • Experience supporting high-volume consumer App and Web products in a complex, multi-brand or international environment. • Understanding of non-functional requirements including security, privacy, performance, reliability, observability and scalability. • Experience with product analytics, service monitoring and incident insight to measure outcomes and improve platform health. • Familiarity with agile product delivery tools and practices, such as Jira, Confluence and roadmapping tools. • Clear, credible communication and the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels. • Comfort working with ambiguity, bringing structure to complex problems and operating independently across several teams.
