Technical Product & Solutions Specialist
Location: Canada, Remote
Reports to: Chief Product Officer
This is a technical, customer-facing product role at the intersection of AUTOSPEX®, infrastructure condition assessment, and product development.
As our Technical Product & Solutions Specialist, you will become a trusted technical resource for our customers and internal teams. You'll develop deep expertise in AUTOSPEX® and work directly with engineers, infrastructure owners, consultants, and other technical stakeholders to help them understand and effectively apply the platform to their real-world needs.
The role goes beyond supporting the technology we have today. You'll develop a deep understanding of how customers work, what they are trying to accomplish, where their workflows break down, and what they need next. You'll distinguish product gaps from training or process issues, identify recurring needs across customers, and translate those insights into clear, actionable requirements for Niricson's Product, Engineering, and R&D teams.
Working closely with the Chief Product Officer, you'll own day-to-day customer onboarding, product follow-up, and backlog coordination, independently moving routine work forward within agreed priorities. The CPO retains ownership of product strategy, roadmap commitments and major scope or priority decisions; Engineering retains ownership of technical design, estimates and implementation.
You'll also work closely with Sales and Portfolio Growth when technical expertise is required for customer discussions, demonstrations, proposals or solution development. While commercial ownership remains with those teams, you'll provide the technical and customer intelligence needed to help Niricson create greater value for its customers and continually improve AUTOSPEX®.
If you enjoy understanding complex technology, solving real customer problems, and turning what you learn into better products and solutions, you'll have a meaningful impact in this role.

- Translate customer problems and feedback into clear, actionable product and workflow requirements.
- Provide context and evidence behind customer requests rather than simply passing along feature requests.
- Help identify and prioritize recurring product gaps and opportunities.
- Own the organization and ongoing maintenance of the product backlog in Jira, consolidating customer feedback, internal ideas, and reported issues, removing duplicates, linking supporting evidence, and keeping statuses current.
- Prepare selected features for development with the CPO, design and Engineering, documenting user stories, workflows, acceptance criteria, edge cases, dependencies and open questions.

- Participate in product discovery, feature validation, and customer testing.
- Support beta testing and help gather structured feedback on new capabilities.
- Coordinate user acceptance testing against agreed requirements, prepare release guidance and customer communications, and follow up with affected customers to confirm the intended problem has been addressed.

What We’re Looking For
We're looking for someone who is technically curious, commercially aware, customer-oriented, and naturally inclined to understand how things work and how they can work better.
You'll bring:
- A degree, diploma, or equivalent professional experience in engineering, infrastructure, geospatial, technology, data, asset management or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience working with technical products, software development, engineering solutions, or infrastructure-related technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to understand complex technical concepts and explain them clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience working directly with customers, clients, engineering teams, or other technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand a customer's underlying problem rather than simply respond to the stated request.
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to ask thoughtful questions, identify patterns, and turn qualitative customer feedback into structured insights.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple customer engagements, requirements and internal priorities.
- A proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership without waiting for a defined playbook.
- Demonstrated experience managing a software product backlog in Jira or a comparable tool.
- Experience preparing requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria in collaboration with software development teams.
- Experience independently managing customer onboarding, issues, and follow-ups across multiple internal teams.
It would be great if you also have any:
- Experience in civil, structural, transportation, or other infrastructure engineering.
- Experience with infrastructure inspection, condition assessment, or asset management.
- Experience with geospatial technologies, GIS, photogrammetry, computer vision, AI/ML, or digital inspection platforms.
- Experience working with B2B technical software or engineering technology.
- Experience working with product, engineering, or R&D teams to translate customer needs into product requirements.
- Experience delivering technical training, demonstrations, or customer workshops.
- Experience working with infrastructure owners, engineering consultants, utilities, airports, municipalities or other asset-intensive organizations.
- Experience in a technology scale-up or environment where processes and products are still evolving.
What Success Looks Like
In this role, success isn't measured by platform usage or renewals alone. It's about understanding our customers' technical problems well enough to know how AUTOSPEX® can solve them today, and what Niricson should improve or build next.
In your first months, you'll build hands-on expertise in AUTOSPEX®: its workflows, outputs, capabilities, and limitations. You'll get to know our key customers and their technical teams, learn how they use the platform day to day, and start documenting their needs in a structured way. You'll build strong working relationships with Product, Engineering, Data Capture, and Sales, and become the person they rely on for an accurate picture of what customers need.
Over time, you'll help us answer questions such as:
- How are customers actually using AUTOSPEX®, and where do their workflows break down?
- Is this a product gap, or a training, workflow or implementation issue?
- What are customers doing outside AUTOSPEX® to work around its current limits?
- Which requests are specific to one customer, and which point to a broader product need?
- What should Niricson improve or build next, and what customer evidence supports it?
- Are we representing what AUTOSPEX® can do today accurately and credibly?
If you enjoy getting to the root of customer problems and turning what you learn into better products, you'll have a meaningful impact in this role.
