Role Overview

We're looking for a Technical QA Engineer to help ensure the quality, reliability, and security of our software products! As we increasingly use AI and development agents to build and improve software, we need someone who can independently validate what those systems produce — both from a user perspective and at a technical level.

In this role, you'll test applications, APIs, databases, integrations, and new features; review and understand code well enough to identify potential quality, logic, and security issues; build and maintain automated tests; and investigate technical problems using logs, debugging tools, and application data.

We're in need of someone who's technically strong to understand how a system works, challenge assumptions, investigate failures, and independently determine whether software is behaving correctly.

Key Responsibilities

• Test new features, improvements, integrations, and bug fixes across our software products.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, API, database, exploratory, and edge-case testing.
• Review and understand application code well enough to design better tests, identify likely failure points, investigate issues more deeply, and validate software behavior independently.
• Build, maintain, and improve automated tests for critical functionality and regression coverage.
• Use AI coding agents and AI-assisted tools to help create tests, expand test coverage, investigate failures, analyze logs, and improve QA efficiency.
• Critically validate AI-generated software and tests rather than assuming generated output is correct.
• Test APIs directly, including requests, responses, authentication, error handling, data validation, and unexpected inputs.
• Validate application data and database behavior using SQL or similar tools.
• Test integrations between internal and external systems and identify failure scenarios.
• Investigate issues using logs, stack traces, browser developer tools, API responses, database queries, and other debugging information.
• Help identify the root cause of defects rather than only reporting visible symptoms.
• Reproduce and isolate software issues and provide developers with clear technical findings.
• Create detailed bug reports with reproduction steps, expected vs. actual behavior, environment details, and supporting evidence.
• Verify fixes and perform regression testing before issues are closed or released.
• Work closely with developers to improve testability, reliability, and overall product quality.
• Continuously improve QA processes, test coverage, and automation.

Requirements

• Atleast 2 years of experience as a Technical QA Engineer, QA Automation Engineer, Software Engineer, Software Developer, or another technical software testing role.
• Programming or scripting experience with Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Go, or another relevant language.
• Experience using logs, debugging tools, API responses, database queries, and other technical evidence to investigate failures.
• Experience with automated testing tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, pytest, or similar.
• Strong understanding of web applications, APIs, HTTP, authentication, and browser technologies.
• Hands-on experience testing APIs using Postman, curl, or similar tools.
• Experience working with SQL and relational or NoSQL databases.
• Comfortable using Git / GitHub or similar version control systems.
• Comfortable using browser developer tools, logs, stack traces, and other debugging information to investigate problems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to investigate issues beyond their visible symptoms.
• Strong understanding of testing methodologies, regression testing, edge cases, and failure scenarios.
• Ability to write clear, actionable bug reports with relevant technical evidence.
• Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Good written English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of quality validation and test coverage for assigned projects or features.

Nice to Have

• Experience testing AI-generated or agent-generated software.
• Experience reviewing pull requests or performing basic code-level quality checks.
• Familiarity with common web application security risks and security testing principles.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution.
• Experience with performance or load testing.
• Familiarity with Linux and command-line tools.
• Experience with Docker or containerized applications.
• Experience with web scraping or browser automation.
• Experience designing test strategies for complex systems and integrations.
