Job Description The Energy Solutions business within Arclin is well positioned to support global growth in electrical infrastructure due to the mega trend of electrification that is occurring globally. This role is within Electrical Infrastructure Technical Service & Application Development team, which supports the Energy Solutions business segment in Asia Pacific. It is responsible for technical service for the Nomex® insulating products used in the industry as well as the development of new materials and new products to serve the growing needs in Asia Pacific and beyond. Key Responsibilit ies Provide technical support for Nomex® offerings in electrical applications Set direction for research and development programs to support current and future business needs Incorporate voice-of-customer inputs into the development of new transformer insulation products Manage long-term Electrical Systems Development initiatives for transformer OEMs Engage with transformer users (utilities and industries) to develop specifications Oversee long-term testing programs with electrical testing labs Analyze and interpret technical data from testing activities Collaborate with global material development engineers Collect customer feedback on unmet needs and experiences with new products Partner with the marketing organization to align technology programs with business strategy Participate in industry standards organizations Develop publications and technical papers to communicate research findings to the industry Qualifications This position requires an individual that has experience in all aspects of the transformer industry, including participation in IEC or regional transformer standards development, with an emphasis on ventilated dry type and specialty liquid filled transformers. This role requires detailed knowledge of transformer design, testing, manufacture and operation, insulation materials and systems, insulation material fabrication along with material evaluation methods. BS or above in Electrical Engineering or other science based field. At least 5-year hands on experience in transformer design, manufacturing and insulation system testing, transformer parts fabrication. Exposure to high voltage systems is a plus. At least 5-year experience in regional or global transformer standards development. In depth knowledge of electrical insulation materials and systems development. Demonstrated strong technical capability, particularly in problem solving/analytical ability. Demonstrated capability of working with cross-functional teams for developing and commercializing new products and applications. Experience with designed experimentation and statistics such as Six-Sigma methodologies. Proven track record of established relationships across the industry value chain. Ability to take initiatives - Identify problems and suggest solutions, proactively think with the team on product development and customer issues. Innovative, strategic thinking, and entrepreneurial initiative. Good learning agility and self-driven. Effective verbal and written communication skills in English, evidenced by external publications. Microsoft Office – Excel and PowerPoint basic usage. Exposure to project management tools like Microsoft Project is a plus. Good interpersonal skills to lead and mentor teams and to work with others who have diverse skills, education and backgrounds. Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. Flexible with business travels (25-50%), which includes all the Asia Pacific region.
