Everfox delivers trusted connectivity to protect the world’s most critical environments and safeguard the sensitive data powering decision advantage.

Built for mission-critical operations, Everfox protects what matters most by securing how data moves, how users access it, and how threats are neutralized across every domain. We enable mission speed and secure collaboration across networks, domains, and allies, while ensuring the data powering AI and advanced analytics remains trusted and protected.

We don’t just defend systems; we deliver decision dominance.

  • Our Purpose. Protect what matters most by enabling organizations to operate security in the most complex and high-risk digital environments.
  • Our Vision. To be the most trusted authority in high-assurance cybersecurity, enabling secure collaboration across every domain.
  • Our Belief. Security should never limit mission success – it should enable it.

Our Promise. We deliver absolute confidence in environments where failure is not an option.

This is a hybrid role in London, UK.

We’re looking for an experienced software engineer who wants to combine hands-on development with helping a team deliver and grow. You’ll contribute to technical decisions, work with teammates and stakeholders to turn ideas into reliable and performant software, and help improve how we build it.

At Everfox, you’ll work on the desktop and mobile applications that enable critical missions by connecting users to our HardSec secure browsing and virtual desktop solutions. The work spans Linux, Windows, Android and iOS, bringing together modern C++, systems engineering, user experience and enterprise integration.

We want to move faster with AI-assisted and agentic development. You’ll use coding assistants and agents in your own engineering work and help the team develop effective ways of using them—from exploring designs and implementing changes to debugging, testing and automating repetitive tasks. Your engineering judgement will help turn that speed into reliable software.

The opportunity to lead

We welcome engineers taking their first formal step into team leadership, as well as those who have led teams before. Relevant experience might include mentoring a teammate, coordinating a feature or helping a group work through a technical decision.

You’ll help a growing team establish clear priorities, make progress through complex work and share knowledge. This includes explaining technical decisions, inviting different perspectives, giving useful feedback and helping teammates take ownership of their work.

We’d particularly welcome someone who would also enjoy taking on line management of engineers in the team, supporting their development through regular one-to-ones, clear objectives and career conversations. Previous line-management experience is welcome, but isn’t essential.

Key responsibilities:

  • Build and deliver faster with AI. Use coding assistants and agents to explore designs, implement changes, investigate defects and develop tests. Review the results and use build and test feedback to improve them.
  • Help the team develop effective AI workflows. Experiment with approaches, share useful techniques and help teammates adopt practices that reduce repetitive work and shorten feedback cycles while maintaining software quality and security.
  • Design and develop the software. Contribute production code, primarily in modern C++, guide architectural decisions and use prototypes to investigate complex problems and integrations.
  • Coordinate delivery. Help turn priorities into a practical roadmap, organise engineering work, address blockers and manage dependencies across teams.
  • Collaborate across the business. Work with QA, Customer Success, Account Management and other engineering teams to clarify requirements and deliver improvements that meet users’ needs.
  • Bring releases to users. Own releases in partnership with our testing lead, coordinating manual and automated testing and validating integrations with hardware, remote applications and enterprise infrastructure.
  • Support your teammates and improve engineering practices. Mentor engineers, share knowledge and strengthen code review, automation, maintainability and supportability, with the opportunity to take on formal line-management responsibilities.

Key Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience developing complex software in modern C++. Your background could include systems or embedded software, desktop applications or mobile applications.
  • Systems design and problem-solving skills. You can reason about interactions between components, evaluate trade-offs and plan for failure, drawing on your understanding of concurrency, inter-process communication, networking, security, performance and algorithms.
  • A keen interest in AI-assisted and agentic development, backed by practical experience. A few months of regular use of coding assistants or agents is enough. You can describe how you’ve used them to implement, debug or test software, what helped you work more effectively, and how you validated the results.
  • Experience working through technical problems with others. You can explain your reasoning, listen to different perspectives, give constructive feedback and help teammates make progress.
  • An interest in taking responsibility for delivery. You can break complex work into manageable steps, communicate progress and raise risks when priorities or plans need to change.
  • A degree in computing, engineering or a related technical or scientific discipline is welcome. So is excellent engineering learned by doing. Show us how you think, what you’ve built and how you tackle hard problems.

Additional experience that would help:

  • Android development with Java or Kotlin, including NDK/JNI, or iOS development with Swift or Objective-C.
  • Cross-platform application development with Qt.
  • Python for automation and testing, and CI/CD tooling such as GitLab, Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Usability, user experience and application design.
  • Coordinating delivery across teams, mentoring engineers or line management.

You don’t need experience with every platform or tool listed. If your experience aligns with the core engineering and practical AI requirements, we encourage you to apply.

Join us:

This is an opportunity to contribute directly to the software, help teammates develop and shape how a team uses AI to deliver more effectively.

We’d like to hear about your experience, what you’ve learned and the responsibilities you’d like to grow into.

£90,000.00-130,000.00 GBP

The actual salary offered may vary within the range based on a candidates' unique experience, locale, and business needs.
