Job Description

This is a remote position.

The Technical Workstream Delivery Lead is responsible for delivering the Technical, Integrations and AI workstream for the LMS Replacement Programme. The role combines hands-on technical subject matter expertise with workstream delivery leadership across technical design, integrations, engineering deliverables, technical testing and cutover preparation.

Reporting to the IT Delivery Lead, the role owns the detailed workstream plan and delivery of agreed technical outputs. It works closely with the Learning IT BP and Platform Lead, Solution Architect, internal engineering teams, Quality, Testing, Data Migration, Business Delivery and implementation partners.

Key accountabilities

Technical workstream delivery

  • Develop, maintain and execute the detailed Technical, Integrations and AI workstream plan aligned to the integrated technology delivery plan.

  • Lead day-to-day delivery of agreed technical workstream outputs and coordinate assigned technical resources and suppliers.

  • Track milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, issues, assumptions and decisions within the workstream.

  • Provide timely status, forecast and exception reporting to the IT Delivery Lead.

  • Escalate cross-workstream dependencies, resource constraints and decisions that require programme-level intervention.

Technical and integration SME leadership

  • Provide technical leadership across integrations, APIs, middleware, interfaces and related engineering deliverables.

  • Work with the Solution Architect and Platform Lead to ensure delivery conforms to approved architecture, platform standards, security and service requirements.

  • Oversee technical design elaboration, build, code/configuration quality, interface specifications and technical documentation.

  • Coordinate enterprise-wide and business integrations and ensure end-to-end ownership of interface delivery and defect resolution.

  • Ensure non-functional requirements and operational considerations are addressed in technical deliverables.

Validation, testing and quality

  • Embed validation and quality requirements in technical planning and delivery.

  • Provide technical subject matter expertise and workstream inputs to the creation, review and approval of validation documentation, ensuring technical evidence is complete, accurate and delivered to agreed quality standards and timelines.

  • Ensure technical requirements, design, build, test evidence and defects are traceable and inspection ready.

  • Coordinate with the Test Lead and IT Quality Manager on technical testing, validation cycles and evidence acceptance.

  • Drive timely resolution of technical defects, deviations and compliance risks.

Collaboration and transition

  • Partner closely with implementation partners and other third-party suppliers to plan and coordinate technical delivery, clarify responsibilities and dependencies, monitor commitments and technical evidence, and escalate delivery risks or gaps promptly to the IT Delivery Lead.

  • Coordinate with the Data Migration & Archiving Workstream Delivery Lead on data interfaces, extracts, loads, reconciliation and archive-integration dependencies.

  • Collaborate with Business Delivery and functional SMEs where technical decisions affect processes, readiness or user outcomes.

  • Support technical cutover, hypercare and transition activities under the direction of the IT Delivery Lead and Platform Lead.

AI and continuous improvement

  • Evaluate and apply agreed opportunities for automation, reusable engineering patterns and AI-assisted delivery.

  • Use data and engineering metrics to improve transparency, quality and delivery predictability.

Requirements

  • Deep technical subject matter expertise in enterprise integration and cloud/SaaS delivery, including APIs, middleware, interface design and technical operability.

  • Proven experience leading a technical or integration workstream on a complex enterprise technology programme.

  • Proven experience delivering technical components of validated GxP-regulated systems, including traceability, testing evidence, defect resolution and inspection readiness.

  • Experience coordinating solution architects, technical leads, engineers, integration developers and third-party implementation partners.

  • Strong understanding of non-functional requirements, security, performance, monitoring, error handling and technical operability.

  • Proven experience developing and managing complex technical workstream plans, including milestones, dependencies, resources, risks and supplier commitments.

  • Ability to translate architecture and design decisions into executable technical delivery plans.

  • Strong stakeholder communication and ability to escalate technical decisions and delivery exceptions clearly.

  • AI fluency and practical experience using automation or AI-enabled tools to improve engineering and delivery productivity.
