Technical Field Sales Technician

Location: Remote, Eastern United States, preferred (40-50% domestic travel)

At JPW Industries, we don't just build products, we build careers.

You've programmed it, run it, and fixed it. Now be the expert every customer counts on to make it run right.

If you are an advanced CNC machinist who knows lasers, water jets, press brakes, and CNC machining equipment from the operator's side of the control, and you have already taken that skill on the road installing, training, and troubleshooting at customer sites, this is your next move. You will be the person who uncrates the machine, brings it to life, cuts the first good part, and leaves the customer's team confident they can run it without you. Then you will be the call they make if something goes wrong.

JPW Industries builds the machines that fabricators, job shops, schools, and manufacturers depend on, through brands like Baileigh, Wilton, and Jet. As our Technical Field Sales Technician, you will work from a home base anywhere in the United States (Eastern US preferred), partnering with our service, sales, and product team to help customers choose, install, and get the most out of their equipment.

What You Will Own

This is a hands-on role with real ownership. You will own:

• Machine Setup and Commissioning: The installs you are assigned, from site check to commissioning to a proven part the customer signs off on.

• The Technical Side of the Sale: Demos, applications reviews, and site preparedness evaluations that give customers confidence to buy, and our sales team confidence to sell.

• Customer Capability: Training that turns a new machine owner into a confident, productive operator.

• The Voice of the Field: What you see on customer floors goes straight back to Engineering and Sales to make our products and service better.

How You'll Spend Your Time

Install. Prove. Repair.

• Install, commission, and troubleshoot water jets, lasers, press brakes, and CNC machining equipment at customer sites.

• Set up, program, and run machines to prove out performance.

• Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems using schematics, manuals, and diagnostic tools, and handle the occasional after-hours emergency.

Partner. Support. Grow.

• Join Sales on demos, applications reviews, and pre-sale site evaluations.

• Confirm power, air, and footprint requirements with customers before the machine ships.

• Grow service revenue through installs, training, and maintenance engagements.

• Help customers by phone or video to solve problems fast and keep downtime low.

Train. Teach. Improve.

• Lead in-person and virtual training for customers, ASCs, and Baileigh technicians.

• Write clear service reports and feed field insights back to Engineering, Sales, and Customer Service.

What You Will Bring: Expertise. Knowledge. Drive.

• Education: Technical degree, certificate, or apprenticeship in CNC machining, machine tool technology, or electrical, mechanical, or industrial technology, or equivalent hands-on experience.

• Certifications: NIMS credentials or OEM control training (Fanuc, Siemens, Haas, or similar) are a plus.

• CNC Machining Experience: 5+ years of hands-on CNC machining at an advanced level, including setup, programming, and operation.

• Equipment Know-How: Direct experience running and maintaining equipment such as fiber or CO2 lasers, water jets, CNC press brakes, CNC plasma, and CNC mills or lathes.

• Programming and Controls: Comfortable writing and editing G-code at the machine, working with conversational and CAM programming, and moving between common CNC controls.

• Field Service Experience: 3+ years traveling to customer sites to install and set up equipment, train operators, and troubleshoot and repair industrial machinery.

• Troubleshooting: Strong grasp of electrical circuits, pneumatics, and hydraulics, and the ability to diagnose problems with schematics and meters.

• Communication: A patient, clear teacher who is as comfortable with a plant manager as with a first-week operator.

• Self-Direction: Organized and self-motivated, able to manage a remote schedule and changing travel assignments.

• Travel: This is a home-based role open anywhere in the United States, with 40-50% domestic travel, including overnight stays.

How You Will Show Up: Our "We Are One" Values

At JPW, how you work matters as much as what you deliver. In this role, that looks like:

• Accountability (We Keep Score & Play to Win): You own each install and repair you take on until the customer is making good parts.

• Problem Solving & Innovation (We Believe in Innovation): You find the root cause, not just the quick fix, and you look for better ways to set up, train, and service.

• Communication & Integrity (We Act with Integrity): You tell customers and teammates the truth about what is wrong, what it will take, and when it will be done.

• Decision Making (We Think Customer First): You make calls in the field that protect the customer's uptime and their trust in our brands.

• Agility & Resilience (We Keep Score & Play to Win): Changing schedules, tough machines, and long travel days do not slow you down.

• Collaboration & Inclusion (We Win as a Team): You share what you know with Sales, Engineering, ASCs, and fellow technicians so everyone gets better.

We are more than just a workplace. We are a community of innovators, problem-solvers, and game-changers. Here's what we offer:
