Tekla Designer / 3D Modeler

Full-Time | 4 Days On-Site, 1 Day Remote Salary: $70,000–$85,000 annually, based on experience

Do you enjoy working in Tekla Structures, solving design challenges, and seeing your work become something real? Spur Industrial is looking for a Tekla Designer / 3D Modeler to join our growing steel fabrication team in Cresson, Texas. You'll work on structural and miscellaneous steel projects, creating 3D models and detailed drawings that our shop and field crews use to fabricate and install steel. You don't need to come from a steel fabrication background. If you've worked with Tekla Structures in structural steel, industrial equipment, construction, or a related field, we're interested in your experience. We can help you develop the steel fabrication knowledge specific to our projects. What You'll Do

• Create and update 3D models using Tekla Structures.
• Develop detailed shop, assembly, fabrication, and installation drawings.
• Work on structural steel, equipment supports, platforms, stairs, handrails, and other custom steel projects.
• Interpret engineering drawings, project specifications, and technical requirements.
• Manage assigned modeling and detailing work from initial development through final drawing packages.
• Identify potential design conflicts, missing information, and fabrication challenges.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Production, Quality, and other team members.
• Incorporate approved revisions and maintain accurate project files.
• Learn how your models translate into real-world fabrication and installation.

What We're Looking For Required

• Practical, hands-on experience using Tekla Structures.
• Ability to create and modify 3D models and generate technical drawings.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering or construction drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage assigned work and meet project deadlines.
• Interest in learning structural and miscellaneous steel detailing.

Preferred, But Not Required

• Experience with structural or miscellaneous steel detailing.
• Background in industrial equipment, structural modeling, or construction.
• Experience creating fabrication or shop drawings.
• Familiarity with steel connections, welds, bolts, and fabrication methods.
• Experience working with fabrication or construction teams.
