| Position Summary | The Religious Studies Program at the University of New Mexico (UNM) anticipates hiring an Adjunct Faculty to teach an online second half section of RELG 347.009 T: Religion & Bioethics in the fall 2026 semester. The Religious Studies Program is seeking a qualified temporary part-time faculty member to teach an undergraduate level section of RELG 347 T: Religion & Bioethics. The instructor is responsible for all aspects of the class they are teaching. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to meeting with the class during assigned times, delivering the course curriculum, developing and grading assignments, reporting grades, and assessing student learning outcomes as outlined by the Director of the program. Positions are contingent upon need each semester as determined by student enrollment levels, courses on the current course schedule, and demand driven by graduation requirements. Positions may be filled or eliminated each semester up to the deadline for students to drop or add courses. The candidate who is selected for this position will report to the Director of the program. |
| Qualifications | Minimum Qualifications: To teach courses as described above are determined by Higher Learning Commission’s accreditation requirements for faculty, and must be met by one of these ways: 1. Master’s Degree or higher in Religious Studies or subfield for which you are applying; Or Master’s degree or higher in a field other than Religious Studies that is related to the position for which you are applying; Or Successful completion of at least 18 graduate credit hours in an accredited program in the discipline or subfield for which you are applying (i.e. BA or BS degree for example).
