We're looking for someone who is an excellent writer, highly organized, and comfortable working independently under tight deadlines. You'll bring curiosity, sound editorial judgment, and strong attention to detail to work that helps inform client communications and decision-making.

This is a part-time opportunity requiring approximately 20 hours per week. The role requires a 6:00 a.m. ET start to support delivery of the daily media monitoring report by 9:00 a.m. ET. Hours will also include supplemental monitoring and related follow-up requests.

Who You Are

You're a thoughtful, detail-oriented communicator who enjoys staying informed about the news and understanding how media coverage shapes public conversations. You have a strong grasp of the U.S. media landscape, an interest in healthcare and biotechnology, and the ability to quickly identify what matters most in a developing story. You're comfortable synthesizing information from multiple sources, writing concise summaries, and delivering accurate work on deadline.

What You'll Do

  • Support the daily production and delivery of a comprehensive media monitoring report ensuring relevant coverage is identified, summarized, and delivered accurately by 9:00 a.m. ET.
  • Monitor U.S. news coverage, healthcare industry developments, policy discussions, and emerging cultural conversations relevant to the client.
  • Review and synthesize coverage across national, trade, business, digital, and broadcast media, highlighting key developments and potential implications.
  • Draft clear, concise, and accurate media summaries, coverage analyses, and reporting materials for internal teams and client stakeholders.
  • Identify emerging issues, media trends, and relevant conversations across the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and broader healthcare landscape.
  • Use media monitoring and research platforms, such as Cision and Muck Rack, to track coverage, research journalists, and support reporting needs.
  • Collaborate with account and media teams to respond to supplemental monitoring requests, conduct research, and support media-related analysis.
  • Maintain strong editorial standards, attention to detail, and consistent communication while managing daily deadlines and evolving client priorities.

Basic Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of relevant experience in public relations, media monitoring, journalism, communications, or a related field.
  • Strong writing, editing, and research skills, including familiarity with AP style.
  • Understanding of the U.S. news media landscape and the ability to identify, evaluate, and summarize relevant coverage.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting healthcare, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or health policy communications.
  • Familiarity with media monitoring and research platforms such as Cision, Muck Rack, or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry trends, regulatory developments, and the media outlets covering these topics.
  • Experience preparing media monitoring reports, coverage summaries, media analyses, or client-facing research.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple requests under tight deadlines.
  • A collaborative, proactive approach and comfort working independently in a deadline-driven environment.
