The Territory Manager presents the value of the Barricade® and Perma R® building-envelope portfolio in a consultative, solution-based manner; manages opportunities through the full sales cycle; and coordinates with Marketing, Product Management, Technical, Customer Service, Operations, and distribution partners to deliver a strong customer experience. Success requires disciplined prospecting, sound territory planning, technical curiosity, accurate CRM management, and consistent achievement of sales and margin objectives.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Territory Growth and Prospecting

  • Develop and execute a territory plan aligned with revenue, margin, product-mix, market-share, new-account acquisition, and customer-retention objectives.
  • Proactively identify, qualify, and pursue new business with distributors, dealers, lumberyards, builders, contractors, architects, and other target accounts.
  • Expand existing accounts through additional products, applications, locations, and customer programs.
  • Conduct regular customer, distributor, and construction job-site visits to build relationships, understand market needs, and support product adoption.
  • Maintain a disciplined pipeline and accurately record activities, contacts, opportunities, forecasts, and next steps in the CRM.

Solution Development and Technical Selling

  • Translate product features, installation requirements, code-compliance considerations, and performance attributes into clear customer value propositions.
  • Partner with Product Management, Technical, Marketing, and Operations to develop solutions, presentations, samples, demonstrations, and field support.
  • Monitor market conditions, construction activity, customer needs, competitive products, pricing, and channel developments.
  • Assess customer technical and commercial requirements and coordinate internal resources to deliver practical, responsive solutions.

Customer and Channel Management

  • Build trusted relationships with customers and channel partners throughout the full sales cycle.
  • Work with distributors and dealers to improve product availability, inventory positioning, pull-through, local market coverage, sales-team engagement, and execution of customer programs.
  • Lead customer presentations, product training, proposals, negotiations, and follow-up activities.
  • Coordinate with Customer Service, Marketing, Technical, Operations, and Finance to resolve product, quality, delivery, pricing, and service issues.
  • Represent INDEVCO Building Products at trade shows, association events, customer meetings, and other industry activities.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of five years of successful outside sales, territory management, account management, or business-development experience; building materials, construction products, or building-envelope experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success developing new business, growing existing accounts, and achieving sales and margin goals across a defined territory.
  • Experience working with distributors, dealers, lumberyards, builders, contractors, architects, or other construction-channel stakeholders preferred.

Technical Knowledge and Skills

  • Working knowledge of building-envelope systems, including weather-resistant barriers, structural sheathing, roof underlayments, rigid foam insulation, tapes, and flashing products preferred.
  • Ability to understand technical product information, installation practices, specifications, and code-compliance considerations and communicate them clearly to varied audiences.
  • Strong consultative selling, prospecting, presentation, negotiation, relationship-management, and closing skills.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, including pricing, margin awareness, forecasting, and territory planning.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms and Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Excellent organization, time management, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, highly accountable sales environment while collaborating effectively across functions.
