Responsibilities:
Territory sales managers are responsible for all aspects of sales in a given territory by managing
the day-to-day business. This includes maintaining and building independent customer
relationships with distributors, dealers and end-users. The territory sales manager must
continually update their knowledge of Whelen’s products while developing various sales tools
to sell new products.

Responsibilities:
Territory sales managers are responsible for all aspects of sales in a given territory by managing
the day-to-day business. This includes maintaining and building independent customer
relationships with distributors, dealers and end-users. The territory sales manager must
continually update their knowledge of Whelen’s products while developing various sales tools
to sell new products.
Duties and Responsibilities
Job Assignments:
- Make regularly scheduled sales calls on assigned customers in your territory
- Develop ongoing relationships with distributors, significant end-users and dealers
- Identify and call on potential customers in your assigned territory
- Work closely with the Inside Sales Representatives within the territory to ensure the territory growth plan is being met
- Be viewed as the key/primary outside Whelen contact by distribution and end-users
- Demonstrate and educate distributors and end users on Whelen products and services while being the Technical Liaison for the Northern part of Georgia
- Work closely with North Georgia Regional Sales Manager in setting, monitoring and achieving sales goals within the territory
- Create a positive team development environment for aligned team members
- Use best efforts to represent Whelen in a professional and knowledgeable manner
- Review orders for correct pricing and content
- Provide North Georgia Regional Sales Manager with weekly territory reporting
- Learn and comprehend all of Whelen’s software and computer systems
- Interface with internal Whelen support for assistance
- Work closely with Director of Sales Administration on bids, quotes and regional promotions
- Assemble and disassemble trade show booths
- Other daily tasks that may be required
- Whelen reserves the right to move personnel between field locations to cover the workload
Training:
- Training will be comprised of Company Mandatory Training, On-The-Job Training, and Off-site Training deemed necessary by Management.
Work Hours:
- Minimum work week of 40 hours or whatever it takes to get the job done. Travel may include Evenings, Saturdays and Sundays.
Qualifications and Education
- Able to prioritize work
- Ability to attend trade shows and other sales related functions
- 75% of time spent traveling and visiting customers
- Ability and willingness to live within the assigned territory
- Computer skills required: Basic Word, Excel, Powerpoint & Google Drive
- Adapt to changing priorities (Multitask)
- Attention to detail a must
- Ability to complete tasks promptly
- Team Player
- Ability to learn product via catalogs, web review and periodic training classes
- Sales experience required
- May have to lift up to 45 pounds (Additional weight with assistance)
