Test automation and QA Lead

We are looking for an experienced and technically adapt Test and automation lead to join our DECT R&D Center of Excellence team in Horsens.

The Test Automation and QA Lead is a full-time, hybrid role based in Horsens Municipality, with flexibility to work from home part of the time. This role is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of automated test frameworks covering mobile handset Firmware, infrastructure platforms and enterprise solutions. Day-to-day tasks include creating and reviewing test strategies and test cases, overseeing regression and integration testing, and ensuring consistent quality standards across releases. The role involves troubleshooting complex defects, collaborating with development and product teams to refine requirements, and driving continuous improvements in QA processes and automation coverage. The Test Automation and QA Lead will also mentor team members, report on quality metrics, and help define best practices for scalable, reliable test automation and feature execution plans.

Project management (Features, Release and QA test cycle execution)

As we build system solutions with several components and teams involved, testing is done across different levels, interfaces and methodologies. This requires project management competence to connect with stakeholders and ensure process are followed, delivering defined test results and dashboard updates according to plans.

Technical insight

Manual and automated tests are important for us to secure our continued high product quality and we use Jira stories broken down to XRAY Gherkins steps calling Python backend test functions.

Candidate will be owner of full lifecycle and all implementation levels connecting and testing all components, proving system functionality is working as expected.

Candidate will

• Be quick to understand system and functional requirements for updates.
• Own feature and release test plans from creation to fulfillment.
• Own the end-to-end test process: specifications, tools, dashboards and Jira/XRAY configuration, keeping it clearly documented and current.
• Coordinate test activities and dependencies across three development teams in Horsens, Denmark and QA team located in Cluj, Romania, ensuring every team has clear, agreed visibility into test dependencies, status, targets and delivery dates.
• Ensure test setups and test infrastructure - HW and tooling - remain operational and fit for purpose at all times, across Horsens and Cluj – contribute with hands-on updates as required.
• Guide and mentor colleagues on test methodology, driving the work forward beyond executing assigned tickets.
• Curiously using AI as tool to improve plans, test coverage and quality of both tests and solutions.

Who are you?

• Proven experience building or testing customer solutions.
• Experience owning and coordinating execution plans across feature development or SW release cycles building quality solutions for customers.
• Experience with modern test automation tools and scripting languages is beneficial.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) and integrating automated tests into build and deployment pipelines is preferred.

• Strong organizational skills achieving targets together with others - able to structure a backlog into realistic, trackable short-term plans and flag risks before deadlines slip.
• Good communication skills; you are a curious team player who thrives navigating a project-oriented, cross-functional organization with several varying projects running in parallel.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders are required.

• Insights into wireless telecommunications, TCP/IP, SIP, TLS, audio from handsets will be a benefit.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in test automation and QA leadership.
