Hyperscale Power is building the power backbone for the AI data center era: a complete power conversion chain from 13.8kV–35kV medium-voltage AC down to 800V DC, combining ultra-compact SiC-based AC/DC and DC/DC power blocks. Rigorous testing is what turns a promising prototype into a product our customers can trust – and what gets us from validated prototype to Alpha customer readiness to volume shipments.

As Test Engineer, you will design and execute test plans for our power conversion systems – from functional and target-parameter verification through stability, endurance and load testing. You will build and maintain the test setups that validate our hardware and firmware, and work closely with Power Electronics, Firmware, EMC/Compliance and Mechanical engineers to track down and resolve issues.

It is a unique opportunity to shape the test strategy of a breakthrough power electronics platform from an early stage – with direct visibility to the CTO and engineering leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute test plans for our AC/DC and DC/DC power conversion systems – functional tests, stability tests, endurance (soak) tests, and load tests.

• Build and maintain test setups for prototype, pilot and production units, including medium-voltage test benches.

• Support prototype validation and target-parameter verification (form factor, efficiency, stability) for our Prototype milestone.

• Support qualification testing for Alpha customer deployments – full target-parameter verification, certification test support, and release tests for volume delivery.

• Develop test automation scripts and tools to increase test coverage and reduce manual test effort.

• Collaborate with the Power Electronics, Firmware, EMC/Compliance and Mechanical teams to diagnose and root-cause test failures.

• Document test procedures, results and reports; maintain traceability for certification and quality purposes.

• Support the definition and specification of end-of-line (EOL) test equipment for volume production, working with our EOL test equipment vendor.

• Support field testing and diagnostics for units deployed at customer sites as needed.

Qualifications

• BSc / MSc in electrical engineering or comparable education.

• 3+ years of experience in test engineering, ideally for power electronics or medium-voltage systems.

• Experience with medium-voltage high-power test setups and lab safety protocols and practices.

• Familiarity with test automation and scripting (e.g. Python or similar).

• Understanding of power electronics test methods (efficiency, thermal, load and stability testing).

• Strong documentation and analytical skills.

• Team player, comfortable working hands-on in the lab with cross-functional teams.

• Language skills: fluent in English, spoken and written; German language skills helpful, but not mandatory.

• The job will be located at our HQ in Egg b. Zürich, Switzerland.
