Test Lead / Test Manager – Core ERP Modernisation

We’re looking for an experienced Test Lead / Test Manager to join our Technology team and play a key role in a major modernisation of Border, our core ERP platform that supports key operations across the business.

This is a significant, business-critical technology programme with visibility across Huws Gray. You’ll take ownership of the end-to-end testing and quality assurance, making sure the modernised ERP platform is genuinely ready to operate at Huws Gray scale.

You’ll work across Technology, business teams and third-party partners, providing the structure, governance and evidence we need to make confident decisions as we move towards go-live.

Here’s What You’ll Be Doing

• Own and deliver the overall test strategy, detailed test plan and test governance.
• Lead functional and regression testing across our existing and modernised ERP environments.
• Coordinate end-to-end integration testing, including third-party systems and dependencies.
• Oversee data migration testing and reconciliation, working closely with business and technical SMEs.
• Coordinate performance and load testing to validate the platform at the scale required by the business.
• Lead the UAT approach, ensuring critical business processes have clear test cases and acceptance criteria.
• Own defect management, including triage, prioritisation, escalation, retesting and closure.
• Provide clear test status, defect and readiness reporting into programme governance.
• Support mock cutovers, production validation and post-go-live checks.
• Provide robust testing evidence to support go/no-go decisions and the transition into hypercare
  
  

What We’re Looking For

You’ll be an experienced Test Lead or Test Manager with a track record of leading testing across complex, business-critical technology programmes, ideally involving ERP modernisation, upgrades or major core platform transformation.

You’ll be comfortable operating across functional, regression, integration, data, performance and UAT testing, while bringing structure and visibility to defect management and overall programme readiness.

You’ll also need to be confident working across Technology, business stakeholders, SMEs and third-party suppliers, turning detailed testing activity into clear evidence that senior stakeholders can use to make decisions.

Quite simply, we reach go-live because the evidence says the platform is ready, not simply because the date says we should.

You’ll play a critical role in giving our Steering Committee an objective view of readiness, ensuring that critical business processes, integrations, data, performance and operational readiness have been properly validated before we go live.
