Test Specialist

For our Partner delivering a project for a European Union agency, we are looking for an experienced Test Specialist (Advanced).

The role focuses on testing enterprise web applications built on SharePoint, SPFx, React, and .NET technologies. The selected consultant will be responsible for test design and execution, defect management, maintaining test documentation in Azure DevOps, and supporting user acceptance testing (UAT).

Responsibilities

• Designing, documenting, and executing test cases for complex software systems.
• Performing functional, regression, acceptance, and exploratory testing.
• Conducting API testing and basic performance testing.
• Creating and maintaining test plans, test suites, test cases, and defect reports in Azure DevOps Test Plans and Boards.
• Ensuring traceability between requirements, user stories, test results, and defect resolutions.
• Reviewing existing testing documentation and taking over test assets, regression suites, and environments from third-party contractors.
• Verifying Definition of Done criteria, including security scan and penetration test findings.
• Collaborating with business owners to define acceptance criteria and organise User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Analysing test results, reporting defects, and monitoring testing progress.
• Cooperating with business analysts, architects, developers, and service desk teams.
• Supporting knowledge transfer activities and taking a test lead role in smaller projects.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of relevant professional IT experience, including at least 5 years of experience in software testing or a similar role.
• Proven experience in functional, regression, and acceptance testing of enterprise web applications.
• Hands-on testing experience with SharePoint, SPFx, React, and .NET Web APIs.
• Experience in API testing (e.g. Postman) and basic performance testing (e.g. JMeter).
• Strong practical knowledge of Azure DevOps Test Plans and Boards, including test management and defect tracking.
• Experience maintaining traceability between requirements, user stories, test results, and related commits or pull requests.
• Experience taking over test assets, regression suites, and testing environments from third-party contractors.
• Understanding of Definition of Done criteria, including security scan and penetration test findings.
• Experience working with business owners on acceptance criteria and UAT organisation.
• Strong knowledge of software testing tools, test design techniques, and methodologies.
• Good understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills, with strong attention to detail.

Additional Requirements

• ISTQB Advanced certification, an internationally recognised equivalent accepted by the Contracting Authority, or an additional 3 years of test design experience beyond the minimum experience required for a similar position.
• English proficiency at minimum B2 level.
• Professional experience must not overlap with periods of education or other employment when calculating the required years of experience.
• Availability for a knowledge-transfer period.
• EU citizenship is mandatory
