Datacolor is actively seeking a Textile Market Manager to join our global workforce.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Market intelligence & strategy

  • Market vision: defines Datacolor's strategic ambition and offer direction in the vertical over a 3 year horizon
  • Market value chain mapping — where color quality creates or destroys value at the strategic and operational level
  • Customer segmentation and prioritization within the vertical, including value chain position and decision-maker mapping
  • Monitoring of competitive dynamics, substitution threats, and shifts in the 'make vs buy' frontier
  • Identification of acquisition or partnership targets relevant to the vertical (feeds Datacolor pipeline)
  • Market conference presence, trade publications, and social media — representing Datacolor's expertise at the strategic level

C-level and executive engagement

  • Builds and maintains relationships with C-level and senior management stakeholders at key accounts and prospects
  • Positions Datacolor as a strategic color management partner at the executive level — not a transactional vendor
  • Represents Datacolor in industry associations, standards bodies, and senior industry forums
  • Identifies executive-level pain points and strategic shifts that translate into product or offer opportunities
  • Collaborates with Sales/Marketing/Go-to-Market on key account strategy and executive engagement plans, without owning account management

Business ownership

  • Offer vision and strategy for the vertical: what Datacolor should sell, to whom, and at what value
  • Value proposition definition per customer segment, grounded in executive-level understanding of business impact
  • Competitive pressure monitoring and corresponding positioning strategy to grow market share
  • Sales channel opportunities assessment, co-validated with Chief Sales Officer
  • Pricing strategy and business model design for the vertical, co-validated with Product Management Director and respective Software Product Owners / Hardware Product Managers.
  • Partnership identification, development, and ongoing management within the market ecosystem
  • Product marketing: messaging, positioning, and sales enablement content for the vertical
  • Portfolio performance monitoring, including but not limited to QBR

Product influence & indirect validation

  • Definition of strategic customer problems to solve — the 'what and why' at market level, not workflow detail
  • Priority input to Software Product Owners and Hardware Product Managers, weighted by strategic and commercial impact of the vertical
  • Voice of Customer at the executive level: synthesizes signals from C-level engagement, industry forums, and analyst inputs — distinct from user-level feedback which belongs to Software Product Owners and Hardware Product Managers
  • Participates in customer validation activities selectively — at the strategic framing stage, not routine user testing
  • End-of-life input: commercial and strategic assessment of product retirement, with veto right on premature discontinuation affecting the vertical

Launch readiness — accountable, not responsible for execution

  • Definition and tracking of 'ready to sell' criteria for each launch affecting the vertical
  • Ensures legal and commercial contracts (licensing terms, partner agreements, service terms) are ready prior to launch
  • Sales enablement: ensures GTM team is equipped with the right positioning, objection handling, and competitive intelligence before launch
  • Coordinates with Field Application Team and Software Product Owners / Hardware Product Managers to confirm support capacity and onboarding materials are in place
  • Go/no-go sign-off on commercial readiness for launches in the vertical

Experience & Qualifications:

You have:

Executive presence

Comfortable in a C-suite conversation — able to connect Datacolor's offer to a CEO's growth agenda or a COO's quality problem.

Market knowledge

Deep familiarity with the strategic dynamics of the vertical — competitive pressures, regulatory trends, supply chain shifts, key players, and how color management fits in.

Offer vision

Can define what Datacolor should be for a market over 3–5 years — not just what products exist today. Comfortable with ambiguity and incomplete information.

Commercial acumen

Comfortable with pricing logic, margin analysis, and business model design. Connects market dynamics to revenue opportunity at the portfolio level.

Launch ownership

Experience coordinating cross-functional readiness (legal, Marketing/GTM, support) without direct authority — accountable for the outcome, influential on the process.

Communication

Credible speaker at industry conferences and in trade publications. Writes clearly for a senior business audience. Represents Datacolor as a strategic color expertise partner.

Collaboration

Influence without authority — drives alignment with Software Product Owners, Hardware Product Managers, R&D, and Marketing/GTM. Resolves tension through strategic reasoning and commercial data, not escalation

Color Knowledge

Strategic color literacy required — understands the business impact of color quality. Deep colorimetry expertise is a plus but not the primary requirement for this role.

How success is measured

  • Revenue and margin growth in the vertical
  • C-level agenda penetration: number of strategic accounts where Datacolor has executive-level relationships and is part of the annual planning conversation
  • Launch readiness: percentage of launches clearing commercial go/no-go on schedule
  • Customer satisfaction and retention at the market level (NPS, churn, expansion revenue)
  • Datacolor's market reputation: conference invitations, press mentions, inbound partnership interest, standards body participation.
