Textile Print Designer

Role Description This is a remote internship role for a Textile Print Designer. The intern will support the design team by creating original textile print concepts, patterns, and repeats for fashion fabrics. Day-to-day tasks include developing digital artwork, refining colorways, preparing production-ready files, and assisting in maintaining a library of prints and design references. The role also involves researching trends, collaborating with senior designers on collection themes, and ensuring designs align with brand aesthetics and fabric specifications.

Qualifications

• Ability to create original textile prints and patterns, with a strong sense of color, composition, and detail.
• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, or similar digital tools used for textile and surface design.
• Knowledge of basic textile design principles, fabric types, and print techniques (screen, digital, rotary) is beneficial.
• Strong visual communication skills, including sketching, concept development, and mood board creation.
• Attention to accuracy when preparing technical files, repeats, and specifications for production.
• Ability to research fashion and textile trends, and translate insights into contemporary print ideas.
• Effective remote collaboration skills, including clear communication, receptiveness to feedback, and timely task management.
• Currently studying or recently graduated in Textile Design, Fashion Design, Surface Design, or a related creative discipline is preferred.
