About the position We are looking for a talented, service minded and detail-oriented Tracking Artist to join our team. Ideally, you would be based in Stockholm and able to commute to the office. As a Tracking Artist, you’ll be responsible for high-quality camera tracks and object/ character matchmoves. You’ll work closely with production teams to ensure shots are tracked to its needs in the highest technical and creative standards. Your work will include: Ingesting and quality controlling camera tracks and matchmoves from outsource vendors Ingesting and processing lidar material (such as photogrammetry or pointclouds) into geometry to use for camera track alignment Attend on track brief meetings, as a technical advisor, providing insights and raising questions to ensure all camera tracking and matchmove needs are covered and understood by outsource vendors Answering and problem solving questions coming from the outsource vendors and skill supervisors Create in house camera tracks and object/ character matchmoves Keeping close communication with the coordinators and PM's Follow studio pipelines, naming conventions, and technical standards Communicate clearly with supervisors and production regarding shot progress and potential issues. Take feedback and iterate quickly while maintaining a high standard of work Ingesting lens grid packages and other vendors files You need the following: Ideally, experience with 3D equalizer, Maya, Reality Capture Basic knowledge of Nuke and Houdini Strong understanding of camera tracking, object/ character matchmoves, lens information, and 3D space Excellent eye for detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving Ability to identify and resolve tracking issues in challenging footage Good understanding of how tracking data is used by downstream departments Ability to work efficiently under deadlines and manage multiple shots Strong communication and collaboration skills A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and improve Discipline Other Location Stockholm Remote status Hybrid About Important Looking Pirates Important Looking Pirates is a world class visual effects and digital animation studio founded in Stockholm in 2007 by artists for artists.
