- The opportunity to work in at least three of our specialist areas. Typically, this is achieved by rotating departments every six months, so that trainees undertake four seats in total.

- A first-year trainee salary of: £34,750 in Liverpool and Manchester and £41,750 in London (Salaries are reviewed annually and any increase to these rates will be effective from September 2027)

Eligibility Requirements
We welcome applications from candidates who:
- Have achieved 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C), including Maths and English
- Have completed, or will complete by July 2027, one or more of the following:
- a law degree (or Level 6 equivalent);
- a non-law degree and a law conversion course such as the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL);
- a postgraduate law course (such as LLM/LPC)
- Achieved or will achieve by July 2027 a minimum of 2:1 in their degree
- Be meeting the required performance expectations in their current role (for internal candidates only)
JMW will consider applications from candidates who may not meet the required academic requirements but have mitigating circumstances.

- Achieved strong A-Level grades (or equivalent qualifications, excluding EPQ)
- Evidence of prior legal work experience (such as participation in a work experience/vacation scheme and/or time spent working in a law firm in roles such as a paralegal or legal assistant)
