  • This role supports the delivery of training and assessment in a remote environment.

About This Opportunity.

Join UQ Skills as a casual Trainer and Assessor, specialising in the delivery and assessment of the BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership and Management. Working within a collaborative vocational education environment, you will help learners develop practical leadership capabilities through purposeful, engaging and industry-relevant training delivered on campus, online, remotely and at off-campus locations.

Key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Deliver engaging training using approved training plans, lesson plans, learning resources, equipment and practical demonstrations.
  • Assess and mark learner work, provide constructive feedback, manage reassessment requirements, and monitor attendance, progress and results in consultation with the Training Manager.
  • Contribute expert advice to the development, validation and moderation of training and assessment processes, tools and resources to support quality and continuous improvement.
  • Complete required administration through aXcelerate, maintain the confidentiality of learner and assessment materials, and comply with UQ Skills policies, procedures and Australian Skills Quality Authority requirements.

About You.

  • Industry qualifications within your area of expertise at least one level higher than the qualification being delivered and assessed, or an equivalent combination of extensive relevant industry experience and qualifications.
  • A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116, or TAE40110 with TAELLN411 and TAEASS502, or a higher qualification in adult and vocational education.
  • Recent and relevant industry and vocational education and training experience.
  • Knowledge of Australian Skills Quality Authority standards relating to learning, assessment and the mapping of training materials, with the ability to apply these requirements in practice.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Principles of Assessment and Rules of Evidence, or the ability to rapidly acquire and apply this knowledge.
  • Experience using learning management systems and student management systems, together with strong capability across Microsoft Office applications.
  • High-level written, verbal, organisational and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build cooperative working relationships, manage competing priorities and maintain close attention to detail.
  • The ability to engage, influence and motivate learners and present contemporary teaching material in a meaningful, accessible and stimulating way.
