ClimeCo is seeking a full-time Transaction Team Support Specialist to join our Products team.


Position Description


Transaction Team Support Specialists provide operational support across the full lifecycle of the firm's transactions, serving as the connective link between the client-facing front office and the administrative and financial back office. This position focuses on transaction execution support, agreement and payment tracking, and commercial risk management—ranging from generating and tracking agreements through signature, to monitoring invoicing, payment, and product receipt and delivery, to overseeing transactions through to completed booking, settlement, and reconciliation.


The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and highly organized professional with the desire to use and improve their operational and process management skills in a commercial, transaction-driven environment. The role carries responsibility for ensuring that front office transactions are accurately booked, processed, and paid, and that the front office team has consistent and reliable operational support. ClimeCo transacts across a range of environmental commodity and sustainability markets, with counterparties spanning project developers, industrial manufacturers, consumer-facing goods companies, and much more.

Responsibilities


Transaction Team Support Specialist – Key Responsibilities

· Contract Preparation and Review: Draft, review, and manage sales contracts to ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements, including customization of contract clauses to address specific business conditions, counterparties, or projects

· Transaction Support and Capture: Verify, book, and affirm daily transactions across environmental products and derivatives to ensure accuracy ahead of settlement

· Invoicing, Payment, and Delivery Tracking: Track invoicing and payment status through to collection, confirm product receipt and delivery against contracted terms, and follow transactions through to completed settlement

· Reconciliation: Match cash and position records against booked transactions to identify and resolve discrepancies, liaising with the accounting and administrative teams throughout the process to deliver accurate outcomes for clients, suppliers, and colleagues

· Risk and Compliance: Monitor operational risk and credit exposure, ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and internal guidelines, and identify, analyze, and propose mitigation strategies for potential risks associated with contracts and counterparties

· P&L Tracking: Calculate daily profit and loss figures and provide analytical support to portfolio managers and the front office team

· Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain detailed and well-organized records of all contracts and transactions, and prepare reports and summaries covering contractual requirements, obligations, and budgets



Transaction Team Support Specialist – General Responsibilities

· Front Office Support: Oversee day-to-day communications with the front office team, including responding to inquiries on orders, agreements, and data reports, escalating issues promptly, and ensuring the team has accurate and timely operational information

· Process Management: Manage recurring transaction workflows effectively by tracking deadlines and outstanding items accurately, proactively communicating issues, being accountable for delivering timely, high-quality work, and communicating actionable information to internal stakeholders through reports and summaries

· Quality Assurance and Control: Manage QAQC processes during project execution with support of project team and other subject matter experts

· · Subject Matter Expertise: Develop subject matter expertise across the firm's transaction lifecycle and product set (e.g. environmental attribute certificates, carbon credits, and related derivatives) to provide relevant and useful support to colleagues

· Knowledge Sharing: Teach other staff members about subject matter and consulting basics and help colleagues to optimize project processes and find efficiencies when possible

· Additional Support: Assist the team with general administrative work on an as-needed basis, including filing, documentation, correspondence, audit support, and much more

· Process Improvement and Systems: Support the maintenance and improvement of the systems and templates used to administer transactions, including contract templates, trackers, and reporting tools

· Team Culture: Build a culture of collaboration, intellectual curiosity, accountability, and empathy

Minimum Requirements

· Undergraduate degree in a related field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Supply Chain, Legal Studies, etc.)

· 2 - 3 years of professional work experience in transaction support, trade operations, contract administration, or accounting (e.g. commodities, energy, or financial services)

· Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word), including comfort building and auditing financial or emissions models in Excel

· Experience with contract management, CRM, or ERP platforms (e.g. Salesforce, NetSuite, or comparable systems)

· Working knowledge of environmental commodity markets, including environmental attribute certificates (EACs), carbon credits, and related derivatives, and the regulations governing them

· Foundational understanding of accounting concepts, including invoicing, accruals, settlement, and reconciliation

· Familiarity with risk management practices, compliance standards, and internal control expectations

· Able to analyze and interpret complex legal and commercial documents, including contract terms, trade confirmations, and delivery obligations

· Excellent communicator, effective at teaching others, comfortable asking questions when necessary, and exhibits strong public speaking and facilitation skills

· Analytical thinker and fast learner; comfortable with both qualitative and quantitative problems, spreadsheets, approximations, and engineering assumptions

· Able to travel occasionally (5-10% time)

· Passion for helping businesses address global challenges, including climate change

The starting salary for a well-qualified Transaction Team Support Specialist is $85,000 to $100,000 annually base salary and performance-based bonus, considering individual work experience and work location.

Additional Information


The position is a full-time, salaried and exempt, which is ineligible for overtime pay under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
