Show job description

ASML operates in a highly dynamic, globally connected technology environment. Business developments, changes in functions and transaction flows, operational execution and evolving tax requirements can all affect how value and profit are allocated. This role places transfer pricing close to the US business so that relevant developments are identified early, their implications are understood and practical solutions are implemented.

You will join the Global Transfer Pricing team and act as a senior transfer pricing expert for the United States. The role combines broad business engagement with focused ownership of ASML’s US activities, the Cymer business and operating model, US controversy and advance-pricing matters, operational transfer pricing and compliance. You will also contribute to corporate projects and help develop global transfer pricing policy positions. This is a hands-on role for a T-shaped professional who can connect disciplines, create alignment and bring topics to a close.

Your mission:

Be the trusted US transfer pricing expert who connects business developments to their transfer pricing consequences, owns the Cymer transfer pricing agenda, steers effective execution of US transfer pricing processes and compliance, and converts complex matters into clear decisions, sustainable policies and completed actions.

Role and responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with US business, Finance, Legal, Tax & Customs and operational stakeholders. Identify developments and TP implications early, and lead issues toward practical resolution.
  • Partner closely with other US-based Tax and Customs experts as part of day-to-day operations, ensuring coordinated advice, aligned execution and effective resolution of cross-disciplinary matters.
  • Own the TP agenda for ASML US operations and Cymer, including its operating model, intercompany flows and agreements, operational TP, business changes and continued integration and alignment with ASML.
  • Lead or coordinate US APA/BAPA and TP controversy work, including fact pattern coverage, functional analysis, information requests, position papers, annual reporting, audit readiness and interaction with advisors and tax authorities.
  • Oversee and steer operational TP and relevant tax provisioning activities in the US. Ensure calculations, price setting, pre-billings, adjustments, reconciliations and root-cause analysis are timely, accurate and followed through.
  • Own the US TP compliance calendar and delivery, including TPD, local files, APA/BAPA annual reports and other recurring requirements. Coordinate contributors, review output and close open points.
  • Engage in corporate projects across both US-focused and worldwide matters, drive consistent global approaches, and bring a US perspective where relevant.
  • Develop, update and implement TP policies and positions that apply globally. Translate policy into workable processes, controls, intercompany arrangements and clear stakeholder guidance.
  • Assess changes in functions, assets, risks, people, decision-making and financial flows, and determine whether current operating-model assumptions, policies or advance agreements remain appropriate.
  • Use data and financial insight to challenge outcomes, identify recurring issues and drive structural solutions rather than one-time corrections.
  • Provide clear recommendations and implementation plans. Escalate where required, but retain ownership until the matter is resolved and embedded.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Education and experience

  • A university degree in Tax, Accounting, Economics, Finance, Law or a comparable discipline. An advanced tax degree, CPA or similar qualification is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years of relevant TP or international tax experience, gained in-house, with a professional services firm or both.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of US TP principles and practical experience applying them in a complex multinational environment.
  • Experience with operating models, intercompany transactions and agreements, functional analysis, TPD and operational implementation.
  • Experience with APAs/BAPAs, tax authority interactions, controversy or audit defense. Recurring APA reporting experience is a strong advantage.
  • The breadth of a T-shaped professional: deep TP expertise combined with sufficient understanding of business operations, finance, accounting, tax, legal agreements, systems and governance to connect the full issue.
  • A hands-on, outcome-oriented mentality. You structure ambiguity, define ownership, follow up consistently and bring topics to a documented and sustainable close.
  • Strong stakeholder and communication skills. You ask the right questions, challenge constructively, adapt to different audiences and create alignment without losing momentum.
  • Ability to operate independently across time zones and cultures while collaborating closely with a global team.
  • Comfort working with financial data and operational processes. Familiarity with ERP, consolidation, planning or reporting tools is an advantage.
