Lead the delivery of transformation that shapes the future of Serco

Why Serco?

Serco deliver critical government services around the world, helping to make society better and safer whilst getting the best value for taxpayers. You'll be joining our Group Digital team working on global initiatives that make a real impact for our frontline services and the value we bring to our government customers. You'll have the opportunity to work across a wide range of programmes and projects, collaborate with senior leaders and subject matter experts, and contribute to the future direction of digital services and technology across the organisation.

At Serco, we're accelerating our investment in AI, automation and digital transformation to improve efficiency, enhance service delivery and create lasting value across our global business.

We're looking for an experienced Transformation Portfolio Delivery Lead to provide portfolio-level leadership and oversight across a diverse portfolio of AI, automation and transformation initiatives. This is a highly visible role that works at the intersection of strategy, delivery and leadership, ensuring our transformation programmes maintain momentum, remain outcome-focused and deliver measurable business value.

We're looking for a confident and collaborative leader who builds trusted relationships at all levels and thrives in complex, fast-paced environments. You'll bring strong judgement, resilience and a pragmatic, outcome-focused mindset, using data and evidence to drive decisions, challenge constructively and influence stakeholders to deliver meaningful business results.

If you thrive in complex environments, enjoy influencing senior stakeholders and have a passion for helping organisations successfully navigate large-scale change, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll be doing

Working in partnership with divisional delivery teams and business leaders, you will:

  • Maintain a complete and authoritative view of progress, priorities, risks, dependencies, capacity and investment across Serco's AI, automation and transformation portfolio.

  • Provide clear, evidence-based reporting and recommendations to senior leaders and governance forums.

  • Drive consistency in portfolio management, governance standards and delivery assurance.

  • Ensure leaders have the information required to make informed decisions and intervene where necessary.

Stakeholder Management & Influence

  • Build strong, trusted relationships with executive stakeholders, programme sponsors and delivery leaders across the Group.

  • Facilitate collaboration across divisions, geographies and functions to align priorities and remove barriers.

  • Influence decision-making and accelerate action without direct authority.

  • Provide constructive challenge where delivery performance or benefits realisation is at risk.

Delivery Assurance & Intervention

  • Support programme and project teams in establishing strong foundations for successful delivery.

  • Identify emerging risks, delivery challenges and dependencies before they impact outcomes.

  • Lead cross-functional interventions to resolve issues relating to resources, priorities, governance or execution.

  • Track agreed actions through to successful completion and ensure accountability is maintained.

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive improvements in portfolio reporting, governance, delivery frameworks and decision-making processes.

  • Promote agile, outcome-focused ways of working across the portfolio.

  • Share lessons learned and best practice to improve delivery maturity across the organisation.

  • Support the ongoing development of Serco's AI and automation capability.

What you'll bring

Essential Experience

  • Significant experience leading complex transformation portfolios or major change programmes within large organisations.

  • Proven experience delivering AI, automation, digital, technology/software delivery transformation initiatives at scale.

  • Strong portfolio management, delivery assurance and governance expertise.

  • Experience managing risks, dependencies and competing priorities across multiple workstreams.

  • Strong understanding of agile delivery methodologies and iterative approaches.

  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills, with experience influencing senior executives and business leaders.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
