• Develop TDM ordinances, development review requirements, and site-level TDM plans, and support ongoing monitoring and compliance.
• Analyze survey, mode share, vehicle miles traveled (VMT), and program participation data to measure results and report outcomes to clients and funders.
• Evaluate parking management and pricing strategies and their connections to land use, transit, and active transportation.
• Develop outreach and marketing materials and campaigns that encourage people to try new travel options.
• Present findings and recommendations to elected officials, boards, employers, stakeholder groups, and the public.
• Support grant applications and program reporting, including Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) funded programs.
• Build and maintain partnerships with employers, TMAs, transit agencies, MPOs, local governments, and community-based organizations.
• Stay current on TDM trends and best practices through industry associations such as the Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT) and continuing education.
The ideal candidate has at least three years of professional experience in TDM, commuter services, transportation planning, or mobility program management with a consulting firm, TMA, transit agency, MPO, state Department of Transportation, or local government. A working knowledge of CMAQ program requirements and the federal metropolitan planning process is essential. Experience in the Nashville or Atlanta region is a strong plus, including work with the Greater Nashville Regional Council, WeGo Public Transit, Nashville DOT, TDOT, Georgia Commute Options, the Atlanta Regional Commission, Community Improvement Districts, TMAs, MARTA, or GDOT.
A bachelor’s degree in urban and regional planning, public administration, geography, marketing, civil engineering, or a related field is highly desirable. A master’s degree is preferred but not required. The TDM-CP credential from ACT, or a commitment to pursue it, is preferred. AICP certification is a plus.
• Experience designing, launching, or managing TDM or commuter programs from concept through evaluation.
• Survey design and data analysis skills, with experience in Excel, online survey platforms, and ArcGIS Pro.
• Strong written, visual, and verbal communication, with the ability to turn program data into clear stories for decision-makers and the public.
